So here's the question--is the NBA helping Houston or trying to keep that 8 seed race alive?

How many times have the Pelicans lost due to Tyreke Evans turning the ball over? Jesus.

Apparently James Harden can hold AD when he rolls to the rim as well

Seriously, nola, what's with Tyreke turning the ball over so much late?

I wish Clyde Drexler would lose his voice. There's no point to him. He's just a massive homer who says nothing worthwhile and makes troll comments over and over again during each broadcast.

As well as take 10 seconds to get the ball over the halfcourt line. Beautiful

OK, this I will blatantly dispute--officials don't use the shot clock to count. They start their own count and base it on their 8 count.

Did you count 10 seconds in your head? It's the officials' count, not yours, and not the shot clock's.

This is a major problem at the high school level. People start screaming as soon as the shot clock hits 25.

Refs don't use the shotclock?

I remember when everybody got all anal about it when they added tenths to the clock, with all the 15.9 stuff

Again, 10 seconds is 10 seconds, I get where you're coming from but a second isn't an opinion. A second is a second. Not to mention you have 8 seconds to get it across right? You have to really fuck up your count if after 10 seconds you still haven't gotten to 8.

I think they avoid using the shot clock due to it resetting too readily in some situations.

Maybe I'm recalling something different, but I'm pretty sure Bware does have a point here. You see the refs viably counting by moving their arm from their chest out for those 8 second calls. They don't look at the shot clock because they have to keep their eyes on the play.

I mean, imagine a scuffle for a rebound but the shot clock operator (a job I absolutely would not want) resets it while the official can't see who has the ball. And there are other situations where the shot clock starts even before the ball has been inbounded, which should never happen. Based on what I've seen--I think they tend to start the count when the offensive team clearly shows possession in play.

Now, I think the 8 second rule is kind of dumb, anyway. You see maybe 5-10 violations per year. Just leave it at 10. No team is going to knowingly take 10 seconds to cross half court on a 24 second shot clock.

The rule is in place to make it at least reasonable to want to press and for late in the game. I don't have a problem with it

With that said, I obviously wouldn't say the refs won Houston the game. Like me and my dad talked about last night, the Pelicans have to get some stops defensively. My complaint is even with how well we were playing, you don't need to give an offense as good as Houston's free extra possessions. I'm not so sure of any defense that would be able to get stops when an elite offense gets extra possessions after extra possession.

I would probably say like 55% refs, 15% Rockets, 15% Pels, 10% Brewer, 5% luck.

Lol, you say you dont think the refs won the Rockets that game, but then you place the majority of the blame on the refs.

Priceless....

I would say 95% Houston being a superior team and 5% Tyreke and his stupid late turnovers. :p

There were some seriously bad calls, though, and there was only one call that went against Houston that made me mad.

What's said is that McHale is a bad coach and he clearly outcoached Monty. It's hilarious.

I don't think they did, that's why I didn't give them 100%.
