I would say 95% Houston being a superior team and 5% Tyreke and his stupid late turnovers. :p

There were some seriously bad calls, though, and there was only one call that went against Houston that made me mad.

What's said is that McHale is a bad coach and he clearly outcoached Monty. It's hilarious.
There isn't much Monty can do. Two of his top 6 players are on minute restrictions, he has to play the guys he has. And when the officials allow stuff like Terrence Jones taking out Quincy Pondexter in midair like he's a safety head hunting a defenseless receiver across the middle like in football he's even more helpless.

With that said so, you have Corey Brewer snow bording on every possession the entire fourth quarter and no adjustment is made? Yes that's poor coaching, and an easy adjustment.

I'm surprised Joey Crawford wasn't involved.

Man, I can't wait til he retires or gets kicked out of the league. I'm not sure which is more likely.

Corey flies. I'm surprised he's as effective as he is. Unfortunately, when he scores, he tends to take more jump shots, which he absolutely should never do unless wide open.

Say, have you heard that McHale actually has Josh Smith on a 3 point restriction? If he misses 2, he's done barring a late shot clock situation or something similar, etc.

Your Pels are all but guaranteed to get in. I wouldn't worry too much.

I couldn't care less about nepotism. But, I'm loving the debate. Great minds battling it out. And I've got a front row seat

With Westbrook getting that tech rescinded (shocker) I don't think that's the case at all. Infact I'd say they are the favorites.

I don't think you can call the thunder the favorites because the pelicans have the tiebreaker. Plus there's always the chance the spurs rest their starters

If I was predicting the outcome I would say they finish 45-37 while we finish 44-38. But who knows, maybe I'm wrong.

Thing is the spurs will be playing for seeding so who knows what they'll do.

And even when they do rest guys sometimes they win those games their backups play hard

It has to be Bud. That's a 4th-6th seed roster and he has them as an easy #1 in the conference.

The only reason the Thunder might get it in is that Portland is locked in at the 4 seed. If Portland plays its starters tonight, you guys are going to lock up the 8 seed tonight.

The Spurs will be in contention for the 2 seed, so I don't see Pop resting players. At the same time, the ball game is in New Orleans, and you've developed a serious home court advantage. Of course, the Monty/Pop matchup pretty much has that game decided if Pop plays his starters, but anything is possible.

The NBA has some serious reffing problems to fix. Giving out techs way too easily is one of them. They can surely improve on that without going back to 10 years ago when every call was traumatic to one or two players. I firmly believe in allowing officials to give technicals for the way they've been spoken to by a player, but there are way too many "Oh, it looked like he pushed him. I'm not sure, but I better T him up anyway" reactions from officials.
