Real talk: who are the Knicks planning on running the triangle with? Dalembert? Amare?

Phil said he thinks Bargnani would fit real well in the triangle.

He would, but he's not apart of the big 3 of a triangle

You need a passing PG, which they have in Calderon
You need a scorer, one that plays on the perimeter but is a threat to get to the hoop; that would be Melo

But the biggest part of the triangle is the low post entry player, which they dont have. That's the Shaq/Pau of the offense, and its the most important part. And they dont have it

Bargs is a court spacer.

Yeah exactly haha. But you don't need a good passing PG to run the triangle. Derek Fisher was never that.

Calderon fits the triangle perfectly even though he is a good passer, though

But what you do need is Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan

Not surprising, but Melo is negotiating a contract with New York.

Carmelo Anthony will sign a five-year, $120 million-plus contract to return to the New York Knicks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Anthony considered the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets before deciding to re-sign. He notified the other teams on Saturday that he's returning to New York.

Anthony might still take less than the maximum $129 million the Knicks can give him, a source said.

Anthony is expected to publicly announce his return on Sunday.

After meetings with Chicago, Houston, Dallas and the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony decided to recommit to Knicks president Phil Jackson and his new regime.

Anthony, 30, is a seven-time All-Star and the cornerstone of Jackson's plan to use salary cap space in 2015 and '16 to lure a star free agent to the Knicks.

Why take $120M over $129M? He either makes $24M a year or $25.8M; neither saves much cap space

Same, its better than having nothing. And Amare is committed to trying to get back to all star form. Could be an enjoyable season

It could.

But people are acting like this team is doomed. A lot can change in the next 13 months.
