I think we're mixing two conversations together here. LeBron does play free safety and the only time that he really "locks down" on a guy is when the game is tight down the stretch. I still believe that LeBron is the best all around player in the league in terms of total game and total impact with what he brings. Curry was on the best team, with the best record ever, and put up great numbers (improved from his MVP performance last season, even). It's clear that he should have won MVP. I don't believe he's the best player in the world though, currently.
I think you're understating the year Curry had. He had, arguably the greatest offensive season ever

Exactly. Lebrons impact is so much bigger. Without curry, the warriors are still a contender. And its actually funny that when curry was out, the warriors defense was trenendous. But thats for another day. Anyway, without lebron, the cavs are finished. Theyre like 1-7 without him this year
Without Curry the Warriors are a mid 50 win team, with him they're maybe the greatest team ever. That's a lot harder than going from mid to high 30s to 56 wins or wherever the Cavs got

Not a list yet but some of the guys Id consider is Chris Paul, Kyle Lowry, Patrick Beverly, Ricky Rubio, Eric Bledsoe, Marcus Smart, Russell Westbrook, George Hill, and of course Steph.

I actually think Beverley is an overrated defender.

Out of that entire list, theres one great defender. And ricky rubio in the conversation about defense?? Lol stop it.

Anyway, my point has been made tho. Curry is not a GREAT defender like youve made him to be. Hes become a good defender, yes. Was very average for a long time and this year seems above average. Nothing great tho. Great means he would be in convo of gary payton, john stockton, cp3, jason kidd etc. Hes not there. Anyway, end of arguement. Case closed

lol good god guy, I'm not going to argue that you don't sit on your sofa and watch games but your Rubio comment is a perfection reflection that you don't watch the defensive side of the ball. Average Joe fan who is 100% in on offense, that guy who only plays offense in Madden and sims the defensive series, if you will. You're right, case closed, you're not worth anyone's time until you can form am informed opinion.

Seems to me more of a case of not watching at all, and applying the stigma of a white, European players being bad defenders.

Lmao rubio is an average defender at best. Ive been watching him play for spain since he was 16 years old. His defense was always his weakness

Really? You're going to use RUBIO as an example for defense? He's been improved, but damn, he's nothing special either. I think you place too much value in guys improving, rather than actually being "good" at defense.

I'm a die hard warriors fan and I'd say curry is a good defender. Not great. He sits somewhere in the niddle of the haters and the dick riders. Not great. Not shit. He isn't going to stop the westys of the world, but really, not a lot of people are.
