Throwing around the word "great" defender like we got gary payton and john stockton out here smh. Jesus
Exactly. Hes much improved, bc recent years he was pretty bad...but no way is he "great" . Come on, you cant put him along gary payton, cp3, isiah thomas etcCameronCrazy06 said:He's the best player in the league. Saying he's a great defender is a stretch though. They have the luxury of being able to hide him and putting Klay on the best guards they face. He's much improved, I just wouldn't say he's great.
He moves the needle on a team more than anybody in the league though, no question
Stop dodging my questions. Give me a list of your top 5 pg defenders now. And top 5 pg all time. Without googling lmaooo show some knowledge sonnolafan33 said:If any of you don't think he's a great defender I would suggest googling as many articles, watching as many videos, and even going back and watching as many games you can be, then come back and say he's not great. A simple google search of "Steph Curry defense" brings up enough articles that will convince you if you go in open minded.
They don't hide him, Steph is matched up against the leagues best PG's ala CP3, Westbrook, etc.CameronCrazy06 said:He's the best player in the league. Do you really think I have a top 5 list sitting in my back pocket? Anybody who does I can guarantee its not accurate and based off of perception, which isn't reality.#2 SG of all time #24 said:Stop dodging my questions. Give me a list of your top 5 pg defenders now. Are you serious? Lol. You cant name me five point guards who are top defenders?? Ok. So this is where we end all of our arguements, because one, you have no knowledge, and two youre just wasting my time bc youre barking up bullshit. You dont even know top 5 pg defenders and you out here calling curry a GREAT defender? Damn youve just exposed yourself hardnolafan33 said:Do you really think I have a top 5 list sitting in my back pocket?
Lmaoo you just keep proving that you dont watch any games. Curry rarely ever guards the best perimeter players on the other team. Its klay who has been guarding them. Hes also been guarding lillard all series but for some reason you think curry held him to 36% shooting just bc they play the same position lol. Get the fuck outta herenolafan33 said:They don't hide him, Steph is matched up against the leagues best PG's ala CP3, Westbrook, etc.
Leonard does son. And thats who you can call a GREAT defenderelcheato said:LeBron, the player I'm assuming you think is better than Curry, rarely guards the opposing teams top threat.
That was my point. If someone is going to hold that against Curry, then it needs to be held against LeBron, who much prefers to play free safety then attempt to lockdown a top scoring threat, unless it's late in the 4th quarter.cavsfan817 said:Curry never guards the top threats either... Klay takes the best backcourt player.

Exactly. But in nolafans head curry the one who has kept lillard at 36% all series bc they both play PG position lolcavsfan817 said:Curry never guards the top threats either... Klay takes the best backcourt player.

I think that says a lot about the Cavs coaching staff, maybe more than it does about LeBron. Can't blame Curry for having a staff that has put together an actual offensive system that can function operationally without him in the lineup.cavsfan817 said:
Great point, in that he came into game 4 and completely dominated after the team was coming off a loss, however I don't really fully agree with it. The Cavs with LeBron vs the Cavs without LeBron are like a team that is arguably one of the most deadly in the entire league to a team that looks like they lost their puppy on the playground.
