And it seems the Knicks were trying to take advantage of the Rockets even before Yao got hurt.. Because that deal doesn't help them.

Curry has a player option worth 10+ million, and if he opts out he won't get more then 5.. I think we all know what he'll do.

Well, it doesnt matter now that Yao IS hurt. So thats irrelevant.

And even iof Curry decides not to opt out, what FA is going to sign with the Rockets if yao cant play anymore? then they'll be forced to rebuild. Curry is better then nothing.

Actually nothing is better then Curry, because at least you aren't paying anything, while you pay Curry 10 million to not play.

He played 3 games last year, isn't in shape at all. No team is going to trade for him in the off-season unless they are getting rid of contracts equally as bad. If he plays to start the year, and shows he can still play, then that is when you may see a trade happen.

He's not an injury prone player, he's played in at least 70 games 5 out of the 8 years he's been in the league.

Out of shape? yes.

But the way it looks right now this is as good as its going to get for the Rockets., plus they must have interest since they called us back about the deal.

The Spurs and the Cavs just traded nothing for two pretty good players, I'm sure the Rockets will be able to get something. Tyson Chandler is available.

And Curry is coming off a season where he played 3 games.. A deal wouldn't happen unless they see Curry in action performing well on the Knicks to start the year.

Why trade and no just do bad and take the 20 mil? You'll get a high pick in the draft as well as the opportunity to sign one of the superstars that are FAs in '10.

If I were a fan, I'd take a year of sucking to get better...

All Im gonna say is they called us back.

Theres obviously interest, they're not thinking they way you are about it. Looks like they maybe willing to take the risk.

Okay, then that's a stupid move on the Rockets because it really makes no sense. Even I, a casual fan, can see that they shouldn't make this move.

Now if he returns to be the 20 and 8 player he was, then all that bad trade talk will switch around.

How many FA's would really think about coming to Houston with Yao out, just to play with Artest (if he stays) and Aaron Brooks?

The lottery pick is nice, but building throuhg the draft will take 5-6 years, why not take on a player thats proved he can play in the league?

So your saying take Curry and maybe have a shot at making an 8th seed and getting swept in the first round? Not getting a lottery pick and even less money than they could of had.

Sounds like a terrible plan to me.

A bunch of people keep saying how the Rockets don't want Artest back and the only option for him would be the Cavs.. Don't know what to make of it. We'll see how FA goes.

There's no telling if he'll go back to that and he was only at "that" for one season.

Even with Curry they arent a playoff team they'll still get that lottery pick.

And plenty of other teams will have money to offer.. teams with more talent then the Rockets.

lol obviously only one would be signed. That's just what people are saying though, that Artest probably won't sign back and the only logical move would be Cleveland. Charlie wouldn't come if we got Artest, and for whatever reason Kidd seems he would rather get more money and lose.

If the Rockets bring back Artest and Yao gets healthy I'd much rather play there than NY or NJ.

Kidd isn't in the stage where he takes 1 year deals for championship teams. Like Malone and Gary Payton. Still has stuff left int he tank.

That "if" is the thing, why would they give Artest big money? he's soon going to start declining no need to pay him a <Censored> load of money. And he's already said he's not giving them a discount.

Yao is on the ropes, even if he does return who knows is he'll be the same player.

Now what about a Artest-less and Yao-less/ Shell of Yao team? things switch up fast dont they?
