The Portland Trail Blazers have been identified as the 'Wild Card' team in on a trade for Omer Asik, a league source told RealGM's Andrew Perna. The Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers are also pursuing a trade with the Houston Rockets for Asik, according to a report on Tuesday by Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski. Wojnarowski added that there was an unidentified 'Wild Card' team. RealGM -

Waiters is younger, cheaper, and probably just as good at this point, so it wouldn't make much sense. I don't know why I even posted that now, cause there is literally no way the Cavs give up Waiters for Green, and on top of that draft picks to Houston.

I can't see Waiters coming to Boston; he's literally Jordan Crawford.

What I think the deal is coming to right now, and yes, I am going to cry if it happens like this

Celtics get: C Omer Asik
Cavs get: F Jeff Green
Rockets get: C Anderson Varejao, 2015 1st from CLE (probably the Heat or Grizz pick)

Varejao works for them as a backup big (thats the reason Asik is being traded; he doesnt want to be off the bench). Plus, he can play PF while Dwight plays C if on the court at the same time.

Cavs steal this trade; he's a great corner 3 guy for Kyrie, and makes them a very strong team in the future.

Celtics will actually be the best defensive team in the NBA, with a starting 5 of Asik-Sullinger-Wallace-Bradley-Rondo, with Bass and JCraw coming off the bench as scorers

Fucking Danny, you're killing me.

I've never been as big a fan of Varejao as most Cavs fans, because there are some lunatics out there who absolutely don't want to trade him, but it'd be tough to see him go, but shit, I'll be happy as fuck. Yea, Jeff Green is nice and all, but this means more PT for Anthony Bennett (I HOPE).
Knowing my luck, Earl Clark would play more instead.

No, the plan is to open Bennett up more minutes at PF and not play him as much, if at all, at SF, since it clearly hasnt worked

I meant trading Varejao opens minutes at Center, which TT would take, opening up some of his minutes at PF to Bennett. Green is strictly going to be at SF. That's what I meant. It works double for me.

I don't think this will happen regardless.

And then Kyrie to put it all together.

And Waiters.

Not a bad team.

Bynum
TT
Green
Dion
Kyrie
Bennett

Max cap space to go with it

Seems like it would be one of the better, younger cores in the East to me.

I'm against it because Jason Thompson would steal minutes from Bennett, quite frankly.

And we'd have one too many Thompson's playing PF. Unacceptable.

Also, mainly irrelevant, but in any three way with the Cavs and Rockets involved, Zeller is probably going to Houston. They'll need a guy to play a few minutes as a back up center, and they liked him going into the draft.

Bass, Lee, and LAC 1st for Asik.

I'll take it; we don't need Lee and his contract and we keep Green

After all this, if that's what he gets moved for? That would be hilarious.
