The Houston Rockets sought two first round picks in a deal for Omer Asik, according to a report from Alan Hahn of MSG.

Zach Lowe of Grantland reports that the Rockets also wanted the right to swap first round picks in a third draft with the team in question being the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Rockets are motivated to trade Asik by Dec. 19.

HAHAHAHA

The Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers are pursuing Omer Asik in trade scenarios with the Houston Rockets.

There is also one more interested team in the mix for Asik.

"A wildcard," one source said.

Asik is averaging 4.4 points and 6.8 rebounds this season and has held a trade request for most of the season.

The Rockets seek a power forward in the deal with Paul Millsap, Thaddeus Young, Brandon Bass, Jeff Green and Anderson Varejao as candidates.

I'm literally so nervous now

Latest rumor has us moving Green for Asik, and Houston gets a 2015 1st from CLE, who takes Green

Such a bad deal for the Celtics

Guess the wildcard is the Knicks?

The Knicks made a foray into the Omer Asik sweepstakes and had discussions with the Rockets and a third team about a three-way swap, an NBA source told The Post. But the source said the Knicks are likely to fall short of obtaining the Houston 7-footer who has asked to be traded.

Asik, who makes $5.5 million this season, is an obvious fit as the Knicks are thin and injury-wracked up front with Kenyon Martin and Amar’e Stoudemire both risks, but have a glut of shooting guards. The Knicks are willing to deal Iman Shumpert — whose stock has fallen a bit in recent weeks — and Metta World Peace. J.R. Smith is the lone prominent Knick who can’t be traded until Jan. 15 under a quirk in the collective bargaining agreement.

We
don't
need
a
 power
forward,
Daryl.

Stop it. Jones is ascending and fits perfectly with Howard, you fuck.

Milsap for sure; I'm personally not huge on Thad myself either, and I'd actually take TJ over Thad personally, so i see where bware is there

but milsap has that outside game, and is a better defender/rebounder/inside scorer than TJ. Jones in my mind is still a stretch 4 but should play SF for Houston if Parsons is out

Jones has really slowed down as of late anyways. Averaging 9 pts and 7 rbs in the month of December, and his defense has been really inconsistent.

I said earlier, I wouldn't move Millsap for Asik.

And bosox, I'm pretty sure the 3 way deal would be Waiters to Boston, Green to Cleveland, picks to Houston, idk where Asik goes. I assume Boston, but that's a lot for Green, probably more involved.

I could be totally off base though, and what you said could be right. I mean, if we aren't giving up Waiters, and it's just future picks that aren't this year, hell, that'd be a fucking steal for us to get Jeff Green. Perfect fit next to Kyrie & Dion.

and after thinking about it, yea, no way we're giving up Waiters in a deal for Green.
