what? I said this during the playoffs too, back when paulius was calling us a "fake 1 seed"

last years team was really good. love IT, Crowder was great in the regular season (didnt do all that hot in the playoffs), loved AB's development... but we were still a 53 win team. if boston were in the west, and two of their wins were losses, we'd be a 6 seed. we still had the 3rd best chances of making the finals behind cleveland and gsw, but we were a good team overall

we're better now than we were last season. IT's scoring increase from '15 to '16 was crazy, and it was due to Horford, and I could honestly see Kyrie's efficiency skyrocket this season with Al

I said we could last season hit 6 games at best (we hit 5). We can make the Finals this season, but unlikely

Dude, you guys were the shittiest first seed tho lol

Celtics or the hawks a few years ago, idk

If rondo doesnt get hurt, we possibly talking about yall like the 08 mavs. No way we lose two at home with Rondo. Plus jimmy was banged up. 3-1, going back to boston bro

you gotta stop with this whole rondo bs man. the reason boston turned the series was because of not having amir johnson on the floor, not rondo

I dont look at those little numbers because most of the time its flawed shit and has to do with the rest of the team

Eye test>>

Youve even said before how Curry turns it up in the playoffs to an extent, and he does. Nothing crazy, but he does and so does Kyrie

Sure haywards better on that side, ill give you that but Kyrie atleast isnt a liability like IT where Lebron purposely has IT switch on him and eats him 7 times in a row on purpose. Hes just short, nothing can be done. Kyrie and Curry atleast have the body to be disruptive and shit. Whatever tho. Inb4 you say "wow kyrie has been surprising to me this year, what a dog". Cant wait
I never said Curry turns it up in the playoffs. I've said at times Kyrie has appeared to give a shit about defense in the finals, which is nice but it doesn't last all that long.

You think LeBron isn't gonna get Kyrie switched on him and eat?

And IT, or Steph, really have absolutely nothing to do with what I've been talking about so I'm not sure why they're being brought up. Kyrie will probably make a bit of an improvement this year, but I think that will have a lot more to do with the system he's playing in (read: Brad Stevens) than any change Kyrie as actually made to how he plays

Kyrie Irving career defensive rating:

In the regular season: 109

In the playoffs: 109

Apparently turning it up results in... no difference
Are a quarter of his regular season games against the warriors?

Are you actually gonna try and argue that Kyrie is anything more than awful on defense?

His numbers before Horford and with Horford. To score that much more on an increased efficiency is amazing, and I contribute a lot of that to Al and his ability to stretch the court.

In Boston's 5-Out offense, when Horford sets the screen for the Pick-and-Pop, it creates the situation where you either have to switch a slow-footed center against one of the quicker guards in the league (and kyrie might be quicker than isaiah), have an open rim to attack, have Horford wide open for three at the top of the key (he shot 52% on threes this post-season at a decent sample size), or have a corner three open due to rotations. That was Boston's go-to all season, and it was incredibly hard to stop. Now with Kyrie running it? hnnnnng

I've said it for a while now -- the Cavs offense is great for Lebron, but not for those around him. It's iso-heavy, little movement, and fairly stagnant, and that wasn't the most conducive for Kyrie (and yet he still put up great numbers).

Main reason I don't think Kyrie will win MVP is because what Isaiah just did last season, and that part of Kyrie's success would be attributed to Brad's system and less on Kyrie. He's gonna fucking ball out this year, and might claim the Top PG in the East

Hope Kyrie's arrival won't stall Celtic's youth development of Tatum and Brown

Jaylen's one true weakness as a rookie was he kept on turning the ball over constantly trying to dribble effectively

Kyrie might be the best person in the league to help him with that

but brad just showed last season he can take the smallest player in the league and make him a near 30ppg scorer for a 1 seed

kyrie is 6 inches taller than isaiah and arguably more talented. brads gonna have fun with kyrie
