Ok cool so if they make it to ECF, lets agree thats a successful first year for Kyrie as the #1 guy
Uhh I guess if meeting expectations is a success then yea. Doesn't really prove he can lead a team as the main guy

We'll see how he performs

Making finals - over achieving
Making ECF - expectation/success
Not making ECF - failure

Now you're just setting it up so it makes Kyrie look good

lol and you're not setting it up so he looks bad? You basically just said Kyrie cannot be considered a franchise "main" player unless he beats the guy who has made the finals 7 straight times

Not at all. Being realistic with all things considered

Expecting him to just go thru Lebron and the Cavs first year is not realistic, but could happen if everything goes right for the celtics and everythinh goes wrong for the cavs

Kinda like expecting okc to beat the warriors. If they do, its clearly overachieving. If they make WCF thats a succesfull season in my eyes and a successful Russ season as the main guy

Man I don't think he can be the guy and there's not a lot that can change that. He's a really good player, and I don't think it's an insult to say he's not a franchise player. I'm not setting him up to look bad because making the ECF on a team that did last year and added an all star is not a success. I'm not even sure Kyrie is the best player on this team

I'm being realistic as well. I just don't view meeting expectations, when expectations are short of winning a ring, a success

Boston is a LOT closer to beating the Cavs than the Thunder are to beating the Warriors

For sure and im not arguing that, just dont see how kyrie leading them to ECF and losing to Lebron isnt a succesful first season as the main guy

Losing in the first or second round, its obviously a failure but ECF? Thats pretty good

Please baby jesus dont tell me you think Hayward is better than Kyrie because then we are just wasting time here and the hate is too obvious and real to change your thinking

So do you consider OKC losing in the 2nd round a failure? Because I don't

So then dont ever bring up lebron making all those finals and losing as some accomplishment if its simply a failure because he came short of winning a ring

If they dont get the 4th seed and dont have to play the warriors in the second round, ill consider it a failed season

2nd or 3rd seed, and im expecting them to be in the WCF nothing short

I mean overall, hard to even compare east and west

Losing in the second round in the east is a bigger failure than losing in the second round of west, but still a failure

And jesus no of course not. Boston's just getting closer to where they need to be.

On a successful team, you need a 1, 2, and 3 as well as supporting members. The Cavs had that with LeBron 1, Kyrie 1B, Love 3.

Boston in 16 had Isaiah as a 1B/2, Horford as a 3B/support, and Bradley and Jae as support. Now we have Kyrie with the slight upgrade to 1B, Hayward as a 3, and Horford still as a 3B/support. Still need a 2 or 2B out there before we're actually title contending

I mean the offense is clearly gonna be ran thru kyrie. We will see if he can lead the way BNC wants him to lead, i just dont know his expectations.

Like do u want him to be more of a playmaker? Brads system is a bit different than Lues

Edit:leadership wise, i believe he will hold him own from learning from lebron and assuming Kobe mentoring him on that
