Yeah, that's too much to trade for a one way player. I know you're pairing him with LeBron James, but still.

I wonder if this all could have been avoided if the Cavs had just taken a flyer on Embiid getting healthy enough to play. They need a Center, so why not?

Maybe the reports of the Cavs willing to offer Wiggins was falsely leaked by Minnesota guys to try to get Golden State to put Klay on the table?

Would make sense.
If both cases are true though, Flip is the real winner here.

Because of these rumors, it will create the narrative of "Flip wouldn't trade Love for Wiggins" if nothing gets done

Now, if that happens, Wiggins is immediately off the table.

they need to keep wiggy, plain and simple. if they swatch up love AND keep wiggy. that's a sick dynasty in the making. not saying it's only because of wiggins, but, because they'll have another superstar in the wings once lebron starts to slow.

I feel like with signing LeBron they are kind of obligated to go after someone like Love, and that will take Wiggins.

Like Dan said, Cavs just need Love to demand a trade to Cleveland and it's gonna be just Waiters, Bennett, and a pick, with no Wiggy

Which would be a smart play by Love if his main concern was contending. He doesn't even have to mean it, just say it, the Warriors will back off, and it kills all of Minnesota's leverage.

Not anytime soon. Why trade our young assets when they haven't even played a game with LeBron yet? He's only going to make them look even better, thus more valuable. Minnesota continues to lose leverage as the days pass. If they won't accept a deal without Wiggins, oh well. Holding onto Wiggins isn't the worst thing in the world. If the Wolves really want a package centered around Harrison Barnes and David Lee, watch their franchise crumble and laugh while Wiggins is soaring.

Also: Nearly impossible for the Cavs to match salaries without gutting the roster while Wiggins remains unsigned. And once he signs we cant move him for a month.

No one has brought this up, but what if Wiggins' and his agent refuse to sign the deal until they get a guarantee he wont be traded? Or just hold out until October

Regarding the first part, Cavs have roughly $8-9M in cap. So they just need to move $5-6M to MIN for Love

Second part, I mean, yeah they could, but why? If Cleveland is trading Wiggins they are trading Wiggins. Him "holding out" means nothing, and then he would need to sign his contract with the Wolves, who would acquire his draft rights
