Dion isn't as bad as his reputation around the league is. He can start but I think he would be a 6th man of the year candidate if he got free reign with a second unit.

He really came on after the all-star break

19 ppg, 3.7 apg 46% fg, 38% 3pt

More specifically in April he was 20 ppg, 3.3 apg, 48% fg, 46% 3pt, and was getting to the FT line more.

Was only playing 32 minutes per game in both of those periods too.

Not large sample sizes but he's got supreme talent and works hard. Not sure what his numbers will look like playing as the 3rd or 4th option behind lethal scorers (3rd if Kevin Love is not traded for), but I like him a lot. Underrated shooter.

Has to adjust though, because the ball will be in his hands even less now.

Any rumor that pegs Wiggins and Waiters together in a package for Kevin Love is bogus. You can count on that.

Waiters was a 41.6% spot up three point shooter. That's something that will be valuable for LeBron. Irving was only 32.1% which is shocking.

I'm not sure, NBA.com only lists this past season. I'm sure it was a hell of a lot higher than 32% though.

I try not to judge Kyrie on this year. It was so unlike him, a bunch of rumors and uncertainty surrounding him, new coach even worse than the previous one he had.

Yea.. I'm not gonna put much stock in that 33% figure after seeing his previous two years. He didn't suddenly become an awful shooter.

Yeah. A perfect example of why you can't put too much stock into one year. Kyrie is a really good shooter

You can't fully ignore it either though. This kind of thing does happen, and some guys never get it back.

The thing I realized when watching Kyrie's spot ups is that teams actually started to play off him and giving him that open shot, and he couldn't make them pay a lot of the time. There are some guys that just aren't as good as knocking down shots when they're open vs being contested.

If you look at raw numbers it's almost even crazier to put much stock into it.

Shoot eleven more times and make six less and you're down 15 percentage points?
You could literally make that difference if you have like one bad week.

Kyrie seemed to struggle when Spencer Hawes was brought in, oddly.

If he comes back next year and shoots a better percentage which I assume he will, I'll completely ignore it.

I agree 100%. Just saying you can't just brush it off because he was at 47% the last season.

I'll boldly predict Kyrie comes close to a 50/40/90 season next year. Something like 48/42/87

I don't think he'll get to the 50%. 45-46% is probably about right.

50-40-90 is such an exclusive club. Only 6 players ever. That'd be awesome if Kyrie got there

Not gonna happen, I just think he'll be close. Adding LeBron and natural progression will help him with most percentages, but he's probably never going to shoot 90% from the line.
