They have Wiggins and Lavine. They don't need any wings.

They need another playmaker on the wing. I'm aware they still have Rubio, but I'm not a fan, and I think you're making it harder on yourself to win when you have a lead guard who can't shoot at all. Rubio and Wiggins together with two bigs who don't have much shooting capabilities really shrinks the floor. The league is all about spacing.

But Flip Saunders obviously is not going to think similarly. He's going to take Okafor.

Mudiay would be the smart play here, but you could sell me on skipping over him for Towns though. BUT, if Minnys reasoning for passing over Mudiay is because they have Lavine, then that team is run by morons.

The Wolves have several needs. Draft the better player, you'll thank yourself down the line. Look at where the league is headed, not where it's been.
thats Okafor bro

If Jahlil played any defense, he'd be the best bigman prospect since Howard or Oden. His post scoring is already better than a lot of starting bigs in the league

I can't see him being worse than an Al Jefferson type of player, and CC can back me up as he's seen more of Okafor than any of us

I agree with you about who he is, but like I said look at where the league is going, not where it's been. Even if, best case scenario, he is Al Jefferson (or even a slightly better version) that sort of guy isn't super valuable anymore. Hell even if he turns into 80-90% of Cousins, that's great. But I don't see Cousins or Jefferson carrying their teams to wins, nomatter how good they are. Guards and wings impact wins and losses more in today's game, this isn't the 80s.

I look at a few different guys. Look at Drummond, he's great, but is he REALLY helping Detroit win games? Now if you replace Drummond with Lillard, how many more games does Detroit take? Unless you have a once in a generation big (AD) or just have a really poor draft class, wings are more valuable today than bigs. They play more, touch the ball more, cause more havoc in general, and I've never seen a team take a good/great wing off the court late in games where it happens quite often with bigs because of free throws or matchup purposes.

I also really don't think Okafor is the best player in this draft, not even close. Think about it this way, I'm talking about another big who isn't Towns here. Are you taking Jefferson or a Chandler/Noah hybrid in today's league? I'm not saying Okafor won't succeed in the league, but the mold he is in just isn't super valuable anymore, like I said.

Lastly you should always take BPA in the draft unless two prospects are close and one is a need. Take the BPA and rearrange the chairs later.

I actually agree with you kinda on the first part, that a good guard is valued higher than a good big. That's part of the reason I think the Lakers should draft Russell

But while in the minority, I absolutely would rather have Okafor over Towns. I think Karl'e defense should be valued as an unknown, as he ALWAYS took the worse big man defensively. And like you said above, the value of big men are declining. So odds are, he often guarded the worst or second worst player on the opposition. And Okafor is a far better offensive player, I don't think that's up to question. So I'd rather have Jahlil

I admittedly don't know much about Towns other than what you can read from scouting reports. Just from what I've read, seems like Towns may not be as sexy as Okafor, but he will be a better pro.

I wouldn't classify Okafor as being "far better" offensively. He has more post moves for sure and is more advanced at this stage, but that doesn't necessarily equate to being better in the long term. In the college game, he definitely was vastly superior offensively, but an argument can be made that Towns' skill set on offense will serve him better than Okafor in the NBA (focus on spacing, teams don't throw it down to bigs anymore, especially late in games). Now, defensively, Towns' is way ahead of Okafor, and that mainly has to do with athleticism. Towns will be able to protect the rim, bother back to the basket players, and switch pick and rolls. Okafor will probably be able to body up centers, but he isn't a rim presence, he has no chance of switching in picks or even guarding pick and rolls effectively to be honest. His biggest weakness on offense is shooting, and on defense he doesn't pose a threat down low and he isn't a great defensive rebounder by any means. That means your PF HAS to be a very good defensive player next to him, and he needs to be able to hit jump shots too. How any PFs are there in the league like that?

Okafor is a great college player and supremely talented, but I questioned how impactful he'll be in the league earlier in the year, and I maintain that sentiment.

I seen that too lol. Kinda made me like him more. I would definitely prefer him over Kristaps as of right now.

I'm just hoping Philly is set on Mudiay.. That way we still have a very solid chance at KAT/Russell.. Minnys goin big, hopefully their lack of a low post scorer they'll take Okafor.. LA is a toss up imo, but im hearing Philly is set on taking Mudiay leaving us Russell or Towns.. My top 2

I also read Balcelona basically just gave up on trying to develop him. Kid needs to check this attitude.

Towns should go number 1 but Flip Saunders and his 2002 offense will take Okafor.

Still pissed he pretty much discouraged Wiggins from shooting 3's.

Discouraging a 31% 3 point shooter from shooting threes is smart

You're ignoring his actual statements. Flip Saunders said threes shouldn't ever become a major part of his game.

If they want him to be a superstar, it has to become a major part of his game.

I can't believe he's in full control of that team. He's awful.
