Tony Allen is draining mid range shots, may as well just turn it off now. Not our night.
You have to look at who's playing better in certain aspects of the game, then they have during their careers.Who on their team is playing that much above their capabilities except for Wes Matthews? And the thing is, we've seen Wes play this well for an entire season. Well, not this good, but still really good. When he does decline, they'll have McCollum healthy too.
You and your vastly superior basketball knowledge and stats need to cool it.nolafan33 said:You have to look at who's playing better in certain aspects of the game, then they have during their careers.
For example, rebounding. They are 6th in total rebounding this season, which has been a big upgrade from 18th last year. So what's going on? First you look at their bigs. LaMarcus Aldridge is easily having his best year rebounding, with a 15.8% rebound rate. His previous best? 14.0% last season. That is a VERY large increase since last season. His defensive rebounding is also up nearly 4%, which is unheard of. So does he keep that up? I find it hard to believe that a guy who has always been a below average rebounder, is all of a sudden an above average rebounder in his 8th year in the NBA. And Robin Lopez, I talked about him at length last year. His rebounding during his career has always been comparable to what a good rebounding guard would give you, and this year he's all of a sudden an above average rebounder? There is about a .5% chance Lopez keeps this up. So if a great rebounding team all of a sudden becomes average or below average, what happens to the team? Same applies for offensive rebounding, where they've gone from 21st to 4th, or something like that.
Then you can look at their scoring. They're 2nd in the NBA in 3pt shooting, shooting 41% as a team. That would have led the league by one entire percentage point last season, and two percentage points in 2011-2012 and 2010-2011. That's a crazy good number for a single player, much less an entire team. Infact, 40.9% from three as a team would mean they were the third most efficient team from three point range in the last 34 or 35 years, since the NBA three point line was introduced. Can anyone really say they expect that to keep up? And it's not like this has always been a great 3pt shooting team, they were only 19th last season at only 35%. I mean, we're talking just a drop to 37% (which is still an excellent percentage) is a difference of three points per game, which for a team that's point differential is 6 points, is obviously a good bit.
And then of course there is the fact that they haven't entered the hard part of their schedule yet. And for a team that is known for their offensive abilities, you have to mention that they've played 62% of their schedule against below average defensive teams. As well as two of the bottom three defensive teams a total of four times, along with playing the 27th and 29th ranked teams as well.
It annoys me when you disagree with me, because it usually means I was looking past something.nolafan33 said:Stats do nothing more then back up an opinion I already have from watching a lot of basketball lol
That's the big question mark to me, with them. I know they're pretty young, but they still play their starters a ton of minutes. They basically play three of their five starters superstar minutes. The other two get 34 (still a lot) and 31 minutes a game. At what point do they start to wear down? For example, they play five games in seven nights against all of the Southwest division teams, all on the road (@Dallas, @Houston, @Memphis, @San Antonio), @New Orleans). If they keep playing their starters that many minutes, what do they go in that road trip? 1-4?But I do think they'll fall off some, as you've stated, they're not going to continue at the level they're at, because continuing on the pace set by a 19-4 record is unrealistic, but they're solid all around in their starting rotation. Depends on the bench, and if they can improve at center before the deadline. Mo Williams has been a disappointment.
he's a beast. i picked him up on my fantasy teamelcheato said:Tony Wroten in his last 5:

Takes 3.2 threes a game, and is hitting them at a 19% clip. My favorite player
