Some people are weird like that. They write, eat, do all this stuff left handed, and in sports they use their right hand. Hard to explain.
I have a buddy like that actually, granted he sucks at basketball lol

I can use both hands for the majority of things I do too.

Most kids are taught to shoot the basketball right-handed at a young age, or when you're 20-something in the case of Tristan Thompson.

When I broke my arm in the eighth grade I kept playing and shot lefty. Eventually got decent at it.

I couldn't shoot with my left hand if I had to, but I had a good handle and had some post moves with it. I dislocated my right shoulder twice in HS and spent the time off working on my left hand.

I open bottle caps and wipe my ass with my left hand.

Have a nifty left handed floater/hook shot too.

I hope James eventually ditches the mohawk. Mohawks are ridiculous.

God. Houston dealing with some home cooking in this third quarter. Play through it, boys. It happens. You get it at the Toyota Center, too.

If the reports of Houston entertaining an Asik/Varejao deal are true, I'd be concerned if I were you. Varejao is a good hustle player, surprisingly skilled around the rim, good mid range jumper developed, but not an ideal fit next to Dwight at all, in my mind at least. Maybe I'm wrong.

I don't think he'd be any trouble as a backup C, though. He wouldn't jump into the starting lineup, and could help the second unit defensively the way Asik does.

Actually, after saying all that and thinking about it, he might actually fit.

Good mid range game, can work the high block effectively because of his passing skills, hits his FTs, great rebounder, cuts well and finishes well.

Fuck it, go for it Houston, Varejao deserves another shot at a title.

Back up C for 15 mins a game, another 10 to 15. at PF.

i have a decent hook with my left but i only have so much foot work to match the left hook. much better with my right.

i swear i seen something a few years ago about the % of players in thye nba who could use both hands and still succeed, pretty sure it was fairly low.

Wesley Matthews just got rejected by the rim and they called a foul. This third quarter, man. Wow. Only Joey Crawford's crew.

Crawford is consistently one of the worst officials, I just don't get it.

And yet he gets a ton of huge games, man. It makes no sense. They always refer to him as "one of the best," too. He's pretty good if he doesn't get too involved in the game, but if a player challenges him, it suddenly becomes about his ego and controlling the game.

One thing I remember from playing ball in HS--there were refs who were awful from the stands, but on the court you loved them because they'd see things that you have no idea how they saw. They were always veteran refs, too. It's a testament to putting the time in, and the effort to get better.

I don't think that's the case with Crawford, but maybe that's why he's so well respected.

On another note, I love these Houston unis. I do wish they still wore the primary gray with red trim home alternates, though.

Houston's originals and into the early 90s were pretty bland, but good. Then the pinstripes were awful. This new style they went to in the early 2000s is awesome, I think. A modernized version of the originals. Underrated unis, imo.

I think Kelvin Sampson is the next long-standing Houston HC, but this unit is terrible. You can't have Omre Casspi on the floor with Jeremy Lin and no Dwight. Too many defensive liabilities.

This Portland team is really frustrating. It's a brand of basketball that just isn't going to work come April and May, but by God if they don't do it well.
