Yep, you're damned if you max him and damned if you don't. I don't believe that he's the disruptive defensive force that would warrant that kind of money anyway. He had flashes in the playoffs and played decent during the regular season, but someone is going to overpay for him.
Nah, San Antonio has been talked about for a while. SA/GS are the two "best" teams that he could go to. I guess if he were to leave and jump to the other conference then maybe someone like Miami would make sense. Boston has such a small shot at him it's probably not even worth mentioning them.
With the 17th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Memphis Grizzlies select:
Demetrius Jackson, PG Notre Dame
We believe this pick improves us in the long run and in the short run. Jackson is an explosive player that can either be the man in charge at PG, or play off the ball at the 2. With...
What do you think has to happen in this series for the Cavs to win? Obviously if Steph, Klay, and Draymond don't play well, but like x-factors outside of that. I think that JR is going to be a huge factor and I think he needs to have AT LEAST one unconscious game for the Cavs to have a shot...
No question, I guess that was poor phrasing. He's kind of like the tier below "max player" in my eyes, but he is young, has upside, and can still play the game. I just wouldn't feel comfortable with him being "the guy" on my team and that's what I think about with a max contract.
It would have at least been fun to see the hype though.
On a separate note, I'm not expecting the Cavs to win either. Warriors looked lost for long stretches against OKC, but I don't see that happening again. The Cavs could have a shot if they get to Draymond or something, but that team is...
He's a very limited player though. His best "asset" is his ability to shoot long 2s, which are the worst shot in the game. He's still young and has upside, but he's probably not "worth" a max. He'll obviously get one now that role players are going to get paid out of the ass though with the cap...
