Where do you think Kevin Durant will sign and why?

He'll most likely sign a 1+1 deal in OKC to maximize his value

If he doesn't re-sign, it'll be between SanAn and Boston most likely

OKC.

If he stays west it wouldn't make sense to change teams as his best chance to win is in OKC. Not counting GS or SA because that's ridiculous.

The only other two teams I can see having slight, slight chances are Boston and Miami, both for similar reasons. A winning culture, a respected organization, a good coach and the Eastern Conference. Miami additionally has the advantage of the city, no state income tax and the fact that Pat Riley can make you leave a meeting convinced no matter what. But the Heat do have major uncertainties on the roster.
Boston's roster, while weaker, is more stable right now, but they would probably have to also add someone like Horford for him to consider it. Boston also has a reputation for a passionate fanbase, which apparently he liked when he played there.

But in the end I don't see him leaving. The fact that he's going to take a 1+1 with 99% certainty and coming a couple of minutes  short of the finals, the most logical thing will be to try it again next year.

I don't think Washington is plausible.

seriously tell me that if he doesn't choose to re-sign in okc that boston isn't in his top 4 destinations. because it absolutely would be

Nah, San Antonio has been talked about for a while. SA/GS are the two "best" teams that he could go to. I guess if he were to leave and jump to the other conference then maybe someone like Miami would make sense. Boston has such a small shot at him it's probably not even worth mentioning them.

I wonder if Dwight walking gives Houston enough room to chase him. I don't think anybody wants to play with Harden but you can't tell me Morey won't start stalking Durant as soon as FA opens.

san antonio isnt a new one and i like that idea. i like the warriors and boston too.

i think a 1+1 is risky but its probably the most logical choice.

Not only would he be safely in the eastern conference....but the roster as currently constructed in DC would fit durant perfectly.

John wall is every bit the athlete Westbrook is, but much more selfless and team oriented. Brad Beal struggled last year, but he's still a great young shooter who will help space the floor. And Otto Porter could potentially be a decent 4 or an elite wing bench player.

Plus he's familiar with Scott Brooks....

I don't see any bit of an upgrade by going to Washington over OKC

Pretty close. OKC will have his Bird rights and be able to offer him a 5th year on the contract with 7.5% raises while any other team (unless there's a sign and trade) can only offer him 4 years with 5% raises

I disagree that 1+1 is risky. What would have to happen to him for him to not be able to get a team to give him a max contract? I think it would have to be career ending, and even then he should just take out an insurance policy against that possibility. I just think he's too good for that to be a risk, like Wes Matthews got a near max (or max?) contract 6 months after tearing his achilles

If he goes East I think Boston is better for him than Miami. Boston is younger, has tons of future assets that can be traded to compete now, a better coach to go with nearly $40M in cap space
