I don't think elite defender and above average offensive player is an elite player. And what am I being a homer about? It's pretty well documented that Davis could be an elite player on both ends.

Lets not act like an elite offensive big has to average 28 a game. Bigs and smells have different expectations to be considered elite.

because youre shoving him down our throats at all times. yet when other people pick their teams players you ignore what we have to say or discredit it and try bringing in stats.

i like davis a lot too but you do overvalue him..

I see no reason why Drummond can't be better than Davis

And why is that? Drummond will be a great player in his own way, but he won't be as good as Anthony Davis. He has way too much to his game that Drummond doesn't.

I don't need stats to prove that Drummond won't be as good as Davis. I really don't see how anyone in their right mind can think the other way. I know you will find this ironic coming from me, but take off the red and blue glasses, open your eyes, and stop making Drummond into something he isn't. Your gonna come away disappointed.

Drummond will never have the face up or mid range game Davis already has.

Last years Per36
Drummond: 13.8ppg, 2.8bpg, 13.2rpg
Davis: 16.9ppg, 2.2bpg, 10.2rpg (would be 14.9ppg if had same amount of shot attempts as Drummond)

Just going off of rookie year stats, Drummond is the better player. Drummond's body, is why he could be better. He can get bigger (he will), and with that become more dominant. Offensively, he will probably a notch below Dwight/Shaq in terms of offensive success at his peak. That can be a 25ppg scorer. Davis doesn't have that offensive promise, at all. Davis's key strength is defense, which Drummond has already proven to be just as good at. And Drummond's the better rebounder too.

I've talked to guys who's seen Drummond play before he went to UConn.... the dude can ball. He has a real chance at being the best big in the league. I still dont like him because he gave zero shits about the UConn basketball program, and just coasted along, just because he knew hed go pro

no one is saying he's going to be better, or even think he can truly be a top 3 player. its just hilarious that you talk down on another persons beliefs about their star player. yet we have to agree with you on your thoughts or we're all wrong.

its funny because youve been in this same argument multiple times in the nba and nfl..

Drummond's rookie season was completely short-changed by Lawrence Frank. Had he been given the minutes he deserved, he could have been in the RotY running. For some reason, Frank couldn't see that Drummond made the Pistons drastically better, pretty much from the get go.

Fucking wasting minutes on Jason Maxiell. Jesus Christ.

Then what the hell are we arguing about? I'm arguing that Drummond won't be an elite player and won't be a top 3 player. What are you arguing about?

Davis doesnt have that great of a face up game either. Better than Drummond, yes, but still not that good.

And Drummond is a center. So yes, Drummond cant hit a midrange jumper for his life, but why would you have him out there, especially in 5 years you'd hope Monroe and/or Smoove will still be there. Drummond would dominate the low post, like Dwight. And try to have Davis play "big man" center, good luck. The dude is very slightly bigger than KD, who is a thin forward to begin with. And thats after gaining weight supposedly.

I'd be perfectly fine judging Davis as a PF who plays stretch 3 sometimes, if he improved his jumper. He'd be much more lethal imo. But putting him out there as a center?? You're setting yourself up for a disaster.

Bosox, there are so many holes in your argument.

And I'm sorry but if you think Drummond can be a 25 ppg scorer your an idiot. I don't think Sal would even go the far.

There are no holes, at all. I don't think either will do well, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick Drummond. And Davis would do better if he werent a fucking center; thats my biggest grief on him

I think it's the way you present your opinion. It always comes off as "my guy is soo good and yours has faults." All they're trying to say is that Drummond is definitely in the discussion with AD. Some of us think he's a better player, or a better prospect. Until Davis attains his NBA body, I think Drummond has the edge because he's already physically ready.

Or the extra minutes could have wore him down. You never know how a player is going to respond to an increased workload... Especially a young player.

So you don't think the per 36 minutes argument has a hole in it when Davis played against starters and Drummond came off the bench and played mostly against bench players? Come on man.

Andre Drummond, with the athleticism he has, is the 3rd heaviest player in the league, at least thats what I remember from playing 2k lol
