Derrick Rose Injury: Updates on Bulls Star's Leg, Likely Return Date

U
Derrick Rose sustained an injury to his right leg in the third quarter of the Chicago Bulls' game against the

Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. ESPN's Nick Friedell reported that he would not return to the game.

The Bulls reported details after the game:
Chicago Bulls        ✔ @chicagobulls Follow

Thibodeau on Rose, who will have an MRI tomorrow: "He has pain and he felt like he couldn't push off his right knee."

Chicago Bulls        ✔ @chicagobulls Follow

Thibs on Rose: "I'm concerned. Anytime anyone goes down, you're concerned. But I don't want to speculate until we have more information."

Friedell added this after the game:

Rose walks out of trainer's room on crutches.

WGN Radio's Jordan Bernfield added this:

Good source tells me #Bulls fear it's a torn right ACL for Derrick Rose. If so, unlikely he will ever be the same.

Grant Hill syndrome, I don't think Rose will ever be an elite player again

He could be like Oscar Pistorius who ran in the olympics with prosthetics

This is so sad considering what his career could end up being... or could have been. Exciting, explosive player and a scoring point guard.

Well let's just hope for a happier ending if Rose ends up like him

Jake's probably on suicide watch right now.

I wonder if that was the last time we saw this Bulls team on the court together.

Damn.

Feels like he's turning into one of those "what if" guys. Hope it's not torn.

This really is awful, because I can't think of any way he can adjust his game. He kind of is what he is.
