I think Dell Demps is as good as gone and I think that's the wrong move. He's done a good job of putting pieces around AD and even with all the injuries you're looking at a team that's projected to win 45-48 games this season. If you get the health of an NBA team how many wins does this team put on the board? 50+

Probably not

They're a 43-46 win team right now. Add 1 or 2 wins maybe

I think the 1 or 2 is low, Jrue has missed 27 games, Gordon has missed 21, Ryno and AD have missed 12 a piece. That accounts for more than 1 or 2 additional wins. Maybe if say Gordon was the only guy to miss time, but 4 quality players like those guys will always account for more than 1 or 2 games, always. I can think of 2-3 games in a four game stretch that turn out differently if Jrue and AD hadn't missed the games.

I'm not sure Eric Gordon is worth a win at all. Maybe one max

He probably was worth one win alone when he hit like 7 threes in Miami.

Eric Gordon has played well since he came back from injury, I think he leads the league in 3pt%, or he's second. I know you aren't a big fan of analytics but he's added 2 additional wins in his 43 games, which seems about right.

That group I mentioned seems to be worth about 7-8 additional wind, which using your calculations would put them between say 50 and 54 wins.

Who said I'm not a fan of analytics? I'm just not a fan of looking at them to tell a story, without going further into it, which is what you're doing here.

You have to factor in several things:

1) The more games played, the more his shooting percentages will regress closer to the mean (2P% probably goes up some, 3P% definitely goes down some)
2) Basketball WAR is questionable
3) The players that HAVE been playing more time in the absence of those players have higher WAR's because of the extra opportunities they've been getting given the injuries. So while you may want to add wins for the players coming back, you have to also subtract wins from the other players. Obviously there's no precise formula for it, so it's hard to come up with a concrete number, but you can't just add the wins of the players you've been missing and not assume that it also affects other players

Hey I'm not saying live and die by it, just that 7-8 is a whole lot more realistic than 1-2 lol

Better question to me is, keep all the injuries, how much better is this team if they have Pondexter, Cunningham, and Cole from day 1? None of those guys are world beaters, but they all lead by example and bring a mentality this team really lacked to start the season.

I'm not sure I'd trust him to pass out Gatorade to the actual players, but I'm willing to give him a shot if you believe in him.

Why do you say that? He's a good player. He's better than some guards currently in the NBA

I still think they're the 9th best team in the west if you factor out injuries
