Hassan Whiteside is the best shot blocker in the NBA.

There I said it.

Also Tyreke is averaging 18.5 pts, 5.0 rbs, 5.2 asts, on 46.4% shooting over the last two months.  Been big.

I don't know about all that, he's definitely a good shot blocker but you HAVE to take into account foul rate imo.

If you look at the top 5 shot blockers in the league right now, AD commits 2.1 per 36, Jordan 3.2, Rudy Gobert 3.3, Ibaka 3.3, and Pau Gasol 1.6 fouls per 36 minutes.  Look at Whiteside though, he's at 4.9 fouls per 36.  Have to take that into account.

Not trying to make excuses, cause our defense was pathetic, but this Pistons game was so poorly officiated.

His block percentage is almost double every single one of those guys.

How legit is Whiteside?

"Need to ask Joakim Noah how he feels playing against Hassan Whiteside for the 1st time"
Priceless

Extremely small sample size aside, I would expect someone who plays the way he does to have more.  We are talking about a guy that defends 72.5% of his shots inside or near the restricted arc.  Look at a guy like AD who's at just 55%, Jordan 58%, Ibaka 53%, Gasol is close with just under 67%, but I don't think anyone really confuses Gasol to be a great shot blocker anyway.  Gobert is the closest at just under 71%.

Back to the small sample size too, even a guy like Gobert, who has played far fewer minutes than anyone else listed above, Whiteside still makes up for only 28% of Goberts minutes.

19 BLK% in his one year at Marshall -- INSANE
13 BLK% in his D-League career

The dude is off the charts. His shot blocking isn't a fluke.

Lowry has turned into such a ball hog. I get that he's the number one guy for the raps, but the hero ball shit is not the best option for the team.

At what point do we just concede that the Hawks are that good?
