Tracy McGrady has so frequently been out of the lineup that the Rockets are beginning to be fed up with him, and Yao Ming has quietly voiced his displeasure. "They don't speak," an extremely plugged-in person tells David Aldridge. "And Yao wants him out."

Next summer McGrady will have an expiring, $22.4 million contract that many teams will likely be interested in taking.

Yao and McGrady still like each other personally, but it is an on-the-court matter.

One veteran scout who worked a Rockets' game recently was shocked by the deterioration in the still-29-year-old McGrady's game.

"I thought to myself, 'My God, he's old,'" the scout said. "It was amazing."

There's some belief that Udrih is out of favor now that Theus is gone - I could see the Grizzlies wanting Udrih as a possible upgrade at point guard. Lowry looks good one night and terrible the next. As good as their front court could be, they need a serious point to get them going. Not sure the Kings would want Conley, and frankly in occasional talks with their braintrust I've never heard the Grizz mentioned.

Sacramento would consider a deal involving center Brad Miller and a second player (but not John Salmons) for Marion, but the Heat hasn't pursued that since an initial inquiry about Miller more than a month ago.

The Hornets and Heat have reportedly had some preliminary discussions of swapping Tyson Chanlder for Shawn Marion.

Sources close to the situation refuse to rule out Chandler's departure. Chris Paul and David West, sources say, are the Hornets' only two untouchables.
