Nothing wrong with a chucker. We need that.

Plus he is like a point-forward.

And the rings, and the clutchness, and the overall greatness lol
Hedo is pretty clutch lol.

What I'm trying to say is Hedo resembled Kobe, just not on the same level.

Thought this work interest you Pistons fans....

Now that the NBA playoffs are over, there is only one team -- the Los Angeles Lakers -- feeling really good.

But in the coming months, basketball fans will see that the Lakers aren't the only playoff winners.

In just about every playoff series, there was at least one unrestricted free-agent-to-be whose play might result in a fatter-than-expected payday this summer.

The Detroit Pistons, one of the few teams with money this offseason, are expected to be in the running for most of them.

One player who will get a lot more attention based on his play in the postseason is Los Angeles Lakers forward Trevor Ariza.

The Los Angeles native said he wants to re-sign with his hometown team, but it's unclear if the Lakers will give him the raise he is seeking.

The Lakers already have more than $70 million tied up in salaries for next season -- well above the luxury tax threshold -- and that number will take a significant jump if they are serious in their efforts to re-sign Ariza and fellow Lakers free agent Lamar Odom.

Ariza's ascension to prime free-agent target came unexpectedly.

Acquired in February from Orlando, the 6-foot-8 forward wasn't expected to make much of an impact. Known primarily as a defender, Ariza showcased an offensive game in the playoffs few knew existed.

In five seasons, Ariza never averaged more than 8.9 points per game. But during the playoffs this year, he bumped his scoring average up to 11.3 points per game.

The biggest knock on Ariza was he couldn't shoot long range with consistency, but shooting was not an issue for him during the playoffs

Yeah I read that last night.

I wouldn't mind a guy like Ariza, but I couldn't see him starting in Detroit.

The Pistons have hosted several pre-draft workouts, but it's still possible that they could trade the 15th overall pick.

Detroit president Joe Dumars admitted after the end of the team's season that trading the selection was possible.

They already have roughly $20 million in cap space, and could add $1.6 million (what the 15th pick made in 2008) to that number if they are able to deal their first-round selection.
Don't even do it Detroit, Earl Clark would be such a great fit. Maybe trade it draft night it Clark goes before #15.

If you can't tell I really want Clark.

Yep, I'd agree. If he's not there and maybe BJ Mullins is gone, then we should trade it. But If Earl is there we need to snag him.

I don't even think we should take Mullens really. I'm sure the guy will be a solid NBA player, but I don't think he will help us out that much.

this is about the Ariza thing. Its almost guaranteed that the lakers will re-sign him. It's Odom that is a question mark. Will he be willing to take the pay cut like he says? we'll see

Ariza is overrated. Going to get 8 million per year for a 10 ppg scorer who plays good defense. Not to mention he has pretty much peaked because he'll never be able to create for himself.

lol I said that already, Ariza is really just a 6th man who can spot start. BUT he fits in good in LA. No way Joe trys to get Ariza at all.

Aran Smith of NBADraft.net is reporting that the Detroit Pistons have made a promise to B.J. Mullens to select him with the 15th pick if he is still there when Detroit selects.

June 19, NBADraft.net: Two different sources have indicated to NBADraft.net on Friday that the Pistons have a promise in place to take BJ Mullens if he's available to the them at 15.

Mullens works well with the rebuilding Pistons as he's a player with significant upside but will take time to become a contributor. With the Pistons in the process of rebuilding their squad, Mullens offers them a potential center for the future.
Ugh, I was really hoping we were going to take Clark.
Hopefully this isn't true.

Personally I don't think Clark or Mullens will do all that good in the league at all. I think the Pistons would be better off taking somebody like Terrence Williams or James Johnson if he's still available.

Those were the 2 guys I had behind Clark in terms of want.

1. Clark
2. Willaims
3. Johnson

What we need is a project player. A big hit or a big miss.
Someone who is raw but has an extremely nice upside. I guess Mullens fits that description but I don't like taking centers via draft.

The only thing he has to improve is creating for himself off the dribble, which isn't learned very easily. Whenever he tries to create off the dribble, or do something other then spot up he throws bricks off the back board. He fits for the Lakers to get 10-11 points with good defense but not worth 8 mill per season. If the Lakers want to win multiple championships their first concern should be Odom, the better and more skilled player.

Rip, look at Amir, you want us to get another player who will get all the help like him? LOL, we need a player who is raw, but still good enough to go in and get 3 or 4ppg and still play D. I think Earl fits that's better then anyone, plus we needed a backup SF for quite some time and we have options to get bigs in FAcy..
