You were comparing the value of the deals without even mentioning the circumstances, that was the point. They had no other suitors, and still ended up getting the #1 pick. No one knows if that Nets pick will be #1. There is a 75% chance it won't be. Regardless, unless Jimmy Butler's agent tells the Bulls that he'll only re-sign with Boston, it's not a comparison worth making. But that also doesn't matter because he's not a free agent until 2019.bosoxlover12 said:I don't get what your point is. Im not comparing jae/marcus/bradley to Wiggins, I'm comparing Markelle Fultz to Wiggins.
And im aware about our role players. I dont get your point about mentioning them, though. That I shouldn't worry about them being traded because they're role players? You yourself just said they have so much more value for boston than for a rebuilding chicago. you def shouldnt trade them
Jaylen was not a reach -- he just wasn't expected by you guys. Celtics did not want Kris Dunn, who was the 3rd best prospect, but 4-8 were all interchangable. Celtics didn't want a shooter, they wanted a defender, so it was between Jaylen and Bender -- which I said all through the draft process. he's currently playing like a top 5 drafted rookie this season even with limited playing time -- and we ALL know buddy hield is not worth Demarcus Cousins. He's not fucking invaluable like you seem to always be suggesting. He'd be worth a mid-late lotto pick in this upcoming draft (#8-13), which has a good amount of value to it
I agree, they are worth much more to Boston or other contending teams, which is why they shouldn't be referred to as valuable trade assets, because they do nothing for the teams Boston is actually trying to trade with. Here are the Celtics valuable trade assets: the Nets 2017 & 2018 draft pick. That's it. All the players they'd be throwing in would either be traded for late first round picks to contending teams or struggle with an expanded role, and then eventually be traded for different late first round picks.
4-8 was interchangeable, they all interchangeably suck
