I'm putting my money on GS/HOU/CHA to get Dwight, with GS being the best option

Charlotte being the lesser of the 3, I've explained this theory before. Not extremely likely

Houston has some outside scoring, and Harden is a great young scorer. Plus when Dwight signed in LA, he paid homage to other great Laker bigs (Wilt/Kareem/Shaq), and when he was in Orlando he called himself Superman, a clear comparison to Shaq. Houston's best player in the franchise's history is C Hakeem Olajuwon, who Dwight has worked with and has been close to.

And there is Golden State. This would be the same thing he had in Orlando: a team focused around Dwight with 3pt shooting. The only difference- these Warriors are miles better talent (Steph/Barnes/Klay) than who he had in Orlando. And Golden State has shown TONS of interest in Dwight in the past. They wanted to trade for Howard, but at the time they looked like they had no shot of winning anything.

I can see both of those two spots, but id prefer GS. And if he wants to go East, I see Charlotte, maybe ATL (I just don't buy it)

charlotte is just crazy bro

GSW simply cant

Houston is so attractive. Hakeem is one of the many reasons, but so is McHale. 2 of the best post big men ever would be right there for him

and i could totally see him and Chris teaming up in ATL. if he doesnt go to Houston, he's going to Atlanta imo

GS doesn't even come close to being able to afford him.

Yea, because sign-and-trades don't exist anymore

They certaintly don't for the Warriors.

And even so, do you know how unlikely a sign and trade is?

Really happy the Nets didn't end up getting him this past season. Brook really emerged.

Kind of hoping he goes somewhere quiet.

You're happy that Dwight Howard didn't end up on the Nets because you have Brook Lopez? Am I reading that right?

Lets put it this way. Dwight Howard this season wasn't even close to being worth what the Nets would have given up for him. I am glad the Nets got to keep Brook, MarShon, + multiple picks.

Marshon Brooks barely has a role with the Nets and those picks would have been late.

I think MarShon should have a bigger role with the Nets (was a gripe I had with Carlesimo). And either way:

Brook: 3 years younger, cheaper, not a liability late in the game, improving from season to season
Dwight: already in his prime, major liability late in games, 19M per year

Oh and Dwight is a drama queen while Brook does his job night in night out. I love Brook and would keep him/MarShon/several 1st round picks over Dwight any day (from this point on).

If he isn't signing with the Lakers, I can guarantee you he will be signing a S&T contract to get max money.

And Yahoo! Sports did an article like 3 days ago, saying the Warriors can and should S&T for Howard, consisting of a deal where the Lakers would probably get Harrison Barnes, additional picks, and some combination of Andrew Bogut, Richard Jefferson and Andres Biedrins, who combined make $34M (Dwight's max will be slightly over $20M)

Bogut+Barnes+Biedrins+2014 GS 1st for Howard+Hill+Duhon is the deal I'd expect to go down.

That Yahoo article is wrong then, the Warriors are one of six teams that are ineligible to receive any player in a sign and trade under the new CBA.

And really after options are picked up, cap holds are given out, etc it will probably be more than six.

I didnt know about the new S&T rules, but i still dont see why not.

You cant S&T if over the Luxary Tax by $4M (aka you cant have more than $74M by the end of the S&T). That deal above that I posted works (barely) if either Rush or Landry dont accept their Player Options

The Warriors don't want to let go of either Barnes or Green after the rookie years they had, especially the way Green blossomed at the end of the season/playoffs.

The Warriors could stand pat, honestly, and still contend. I'm not sure they need to mess with what's working. Get Bogut and Curry healthy for a full year, monitor their minutes, and see if you can't get home court for at least a couple of rounds.

The Warriors are already the third best team in the Western Conference, imo, behind SA and OKC. I love Memphis but a healthy Golden State would have ran them off the court much like San Antonio did.

Also, the Warriors might be good enough all around to knock off OKC, who's very limited outside of Durant and Westbrook. And who's to say that, if Curry hadn't turned his ankle, they couldn't have taken the Spurs to seven or won that series?

Dwight-Lee-Draymond-Klay-Steph is better than what they have right now for sure. And yes, this makes them real competition for a title

Well right now I can't see Rush opting out coming off the injury, and the latest report sounds like Carl Landry may be leaning towards picking up the option just to ensure he stays in Golden State.  And if he did opt out they'd have to pay Jack and Landry good sized deals.

They were better defensively without David Lee, so I have to wonder if he'll be around next year. They found out that he's very expendable, as most stat padders are.

I don't expect Jack to come back, he wants a starting gig somewhere. And I guarantee they'd rather not sign Carl Landry over Dwight Howard
