To pair with Dwight?  They most certainly would.

Of course they don't, but the Rockets would do it because you would have a core of Harden, Anderson, and Dwight which is a fantastic fit.  Better than Harden, Parsons, and Dwight.  Plus that core would be making just a combined 41M, which you couldn't beat with a three player core.  After Lin and a couple more rookie deals you'd still have 4M to work with.  Plus minimum type deals vets would take to play with those guys.

The Rockets wouldn't trade Parsons straight up for Anderson.
nobody outside the New Orleans ownership would

A young promising forward who makes less than $1M in salary for the next two years, who technically shot for better percentages than that guy who is a defensive liability and makes $8.3-8.5M for 3 years, is the more valuable to almost anybody

Next to Harden and Dwight?  A premier stretch 4 like Anderson is way more valuable next to those two guys.

I admit that Asik and Parsons is a little much, but there are a lot of teams that would make that move straight up.  Anderson for Parsons that is.

The fact of the matter is that Chandler Parsons is already a better player than Ryan Anderson, and Chandler's only going to get better.

You can keep Anderson. Fuck that noise. Houston already has a stretch four who in Terrence Jones, but at least he has some athleticism, unlike Anderson.

Parsons can play Anderson's exact same role, while also being able to attack the hoop and play defense.

You're just lucky bware isn't here to beat a dead horse. Parsons is more valuable than Anderson, without a doubt

Jk found bware

Lol.  A guy like Anderson is more valuable to any team, it's tough to find guys like him.  Where as you can find guys like Parsons every year.

Also don't discount the fact that both are in the 24/25 age range.  It's not like Ryan won't keep getting better.

Parsons is a better player. He hasn't reached his ceiling. Anderson has no athletic ability. He can shoot threes. Awesome. I'll keep Parsons 10 times out of 10.

Well you do that, but it's kind of clear you haven't watched Ryan Anderson very much.

I'm sorry man, but I'll take the guy who improves in every offensive category every year and plays very good defense. Not to mention the fact that he's a momentum shift waiting to happen because he can jump out of the gym.

I'd love to have a 3 point shooting stretch 4, but we already have that in Motiejunas, and we already have an athletic 4 who can shoot and is developing the 3 ball in Terrence Jones. Houston, quite frankly, doesn't need Ryan Anderson.

And you haven't watched Parsons that much, either. I've been singing his praises since Houston drafted him, and you all caught on this past year.

From his last year in Orlando to his first year in New Orleans:

Anderson
Increase in usage percentage, turnover percentage, assist percentage (the only good one)
Decrease in PER, TS%, eFG%, rebound percentage, steal percentage, offensive win shares, defensive win shares, total win shares, FG%, 3PT%, FT%

I wasn't going to bring it up, but since you did, there is literally not one advanced stat that measures a players value that suggests Parsons is a better player.

Anderson has him in PER, value added, wins added, win shares per 48.  Heck you bring up PER which suggests Parsons is just a average player.

Parsons is a second year player who dealt with several injuries and bouts of inconsistency. What do you expect?

I'm fine with all that, I'd agree with you actually with Motiejunas.  Love him.  But for starters lets not oversell Parsons' improvement.  He's had one real offseason, so it's a little to early to start talking about how much he's improving.  His biggest improvement this season was probably playing almost 1000 more minutes this season than last and about 8 more minutes per game overall.  Lets also not oversell his defense.  Allowing 0.88 points per play is far from "very good."  Every per play stat he has from iso, to spot up, to off screens suggests he has a long way to go before he's "very good" defensively.

And Parsons played his college ball at Florida which obviously is in the SEC, so the majority of Floridas games were televised whether they were on SEC network, CBS, ESPN, WULPD, etc.  And then he gets drafted to Houston, which I get every game broadcasted via Fox Sports Houston/Southwest for as long as I remember.  I've seen Parsons a ton.

I honestly don't think Dwight would get a ring in Houston any time soon. Something just makes me think he wouldn't with the competition in the west

Dwight Wants To See How Each Team Plans On Winning
Dwight Howard is a free agent this offseason for the first time in his career and is widely expected to decide between the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks.

"It's free agency and I have the opportunity to choose where I'm going to play," said Howard. "God opens doors, and I'm relying on my faith to direct me.

"I don't think it's fair I get criticized for waiting on such an opportunity."

Howard was asked what he wants in a team.

"I want to win; I've done everything else," he said. "I just want to win."

Howard also spoke warmly about Mike D'Antoni, though he did seem to express his feelings in the past tense.

"He's a great person and I'm glad we had the opportunity to be together," said Howard.

Howard will make in-person visits to each of the teams interested in signing him.
"I want to see what each opportunity offers," Howard said. "I want to see how people plan on winning."

I don't know if they can win a title, but you add him and let Harden take more of a distributor's role, and that team gets a lot better, I think. Houston's already found their 1 and 3 in Beverly and Parsons, and if they don't get Howard, Asik is a damn good center who stays healthy above all else. Houston just needs to let their fours actually develop. Smith, Motiejunas, and Jones are all viable PF starters and Houston needs to just roll with one.
