Stay this season, as in not get traded, he's not staying after this year.

And Dwight already said that his mom's opinion is just that, her opinion, it's not going to influence him greatly.

Sources with knowledge of Howard's thinking say nothing has changed about his outlook. And while his wish-list of teams still includes the Nets, Lakers and Mavs, New Jersey is far and away the leader.

Though it may pain the purists, it's not just about basketball for Howard. He wants to take his brand global, to leverage the international influence of Russian owner Mikhail Prokhorov while building his brand as Brooklyn's first star. His wandering eye is enticed not only by the Barclays Center that is set to open next season, but the businesses in the booming area around it that could afford many off-court opportunities. He wants, as one source said, to "be Kobe Bryant, not be with Kobe Bryant." Of course, it's hardly that simple.

Did anyone notice that Toronto deal had no one going to Toronto? Sure maybe that was just the bulk of the deal, but I don't see what else Orlando or the Lakers could offer Toronto that would be decent enough.

Also Orlando is trying to trade for Steve Nash.

Not right away, but that deal would get them a 32 year old big due nearly 60 million dollars over three years, a center with bad knees that's due 31.5 million over two years and will surely get a HUGE payday that will probably be risky because of the fact that he can't stay healthy, and a 30 year old PG due 20 million over the next two years and surely will give him big money after that if hendoesnt rapidly decline.

Before domerocker posts it

Dwight Howard's list of preferred destinations remains the Nets, Lakers and Mavericks with the Nets as the clear leader, according to a source.

One source said Howard wants to "be Kobe Bryant, not be with Kobe Bryant."

Sam Amick also cites close friends of Howard who say Bryant informed him that he would be the second or third option on the Lakers.

******'s Jarrod Rudolph first reported details of the conversation in which Bryant compared Howard's potential impact to Tyson Chandler.

But one source says Howard preferred the Nets even before the Bryant conversation.

I dont think Dwight is gonna go to the Lakers. The Magic arent even interested in Bynum, so basically it comes down to the Magic and Nets. With the Mavericks as a wild card.

The Mavericks honestly don't have a horse in the race. Trading for him is out of the question which means that he would have to sign there in the off-season. Why would he want to go to Dallas to play with Dirk when the rest of the roster would be gutted? Having D-Will, Dirk, and Dwight is financially impossible unless D-Will and Dwight both take massive pay-cuts so that trio isn't a real possibility.

Then you're not trading him because no one is going to trade for him without an extension and considering the Magic don't want Bynum and you'd commit suicide if they traded with the Mavs, the Nets win be default.

If I'm the Nets, I'm sitting pretty right now, no pressure to make the trade now as there's no other team really out there that presents a threat, they can keep all their players, continue to suck, get a nice lotto pick, and sign Howard in the off-season.

I bet they would take KG and Ray's expirings and picks if we took on Guido Turkoglu's contract, if they don't like Lopez
