But that's not going to happen

They don't have the trade assets to acquire the caliber of player it will take for Dwight to stay.

I don't know. Maybe the Nets will throw a good offer out someday, but why not keep everyone and maybe sign him in the offseason. Still a lot of options at this point IMO. Especially with Deron expressing interest in Dallas.

It would be smart for both teams, but I dunno if that happens. Lakers want Bynum.

The Magic are not interested in trading Dwight Howard to the Lakers for Andrew Bynum, according to one source that spoke with Peter Vecsey.

“I can tell you for a fact the Lakers offered Andrew Bynum and the Magic do not want him,” said a Western Conference executive.

Several insiders believe Howard will remain in Orlando for the remainder of the season.

Why? If he wants money and is okay with staying in Orlando (mainly them saying we will trade for player X or sign player Z)
you can't make trade promises or signing promises when you have no cap space or trade assets...

It would be smart for both teams, but I dunno if that happens. Lakers want Bynum.
lakers would want dwight more. but they won't make that trade. I still see dwight going to new jersey, hopeful via free agency.

If you don't wanna lose Dwight, you make whatever promises you need to keep him. No matter how farfetched they are.

You do whatever you have to do. Thats what it takes to make a business.

I'm in like a million business classes. I think i'd trust my teachers who were CEOs of large companies.

If I wanted to keep Dwight, I'd offer him ownership as well as a ridiculous contract

Offer him like 30% of the ownership and a maxed contract. Bet he stays then

I'm not sure you can do that and I really don't think any owner would want to do that, if you need to give a player a certain amount of ownership then he's not worth keeping. his situation is the same as lebrons minus the fact we all expected lebron to leave. they had so many years to try and build a long term contending team and they couldn't. not the players fault. they can only recruit so much, its up to the front office to do the rest and they failed.

ORL needs to trade him, or they'll be screwed like CLE was when he leaves for nothing.

LeBron leaving is part of the reason we got Kyrie and he is better then anything we could have gotten via trade.

Think you might be underestimating the trade market for LeBron a bit. I'm just as high on Kyrie as you are but don't you think Chicago would've moved Rose for him or the Magic would have traded Dwight for him? Any team would probably be have been willing to trade their best player for LeBron other than the Lakers.

There is a 0% chance those teams consider would consider those deals unless LeBron signed an extension on the spot.

The Bulls probably wouldn't do it regardless, and Dwight ends up leaving this year anyway.

The Cavs are pretty much guaranteed to have Kyrie for 7 years, probably more. That's pretty valuable.

The Magic are denying a rumor that they have reached a deal with the Lakers and Raptors involving Dwight Howard.

Howard, Hedo Turkoglu and Jameer Nelson would go to the Lakers, while the Magic would receive Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol and possibly Jose Calderon.

Alex Martins, CEO of the Magic, confirmed to the Sentinel that the rumor is wrong.

Well Dwights mother wants him to stay in Orlando. And the owner of the Magic says that Dwight is more than likely going to stay.
