He pitched in 24 wins.
Then the **** did anybody argue the Jays playoff chances with or without Bautista?put Verlander on the jays in place of Bautista, are they in the playoffs? no
put Bautista on the Tigers, do they get in? yup. even without Justin Verlander pitching
put Bautista on the Sox instead of Ellsbury and they might get in, who knows
put him in place of Curtis and the yanks still get in
it's a dumb argument to say the Jays dont go the playoffs with or without Bautista
Most Valuable Player is not Best Player. It's based on a player's value to his respective club, and clearly Verlander has an immense value to the Tigers.all im saying is, he had a great year
he wasnt the best player in the AL however and shouldnt have won MVP
the only reason he won is because he got 24 wins, which is asinine
Tigers had a 15 game lead over the IndiansMost Valuable Player is not Best Player. It's based on a player's value to his respective club, and clearly Verlander has an immense value to the Tigers.
tighter, but who comes out on top? the tigersLet's just assume the average MLB Pitcher wins 12 Games a year. Maybe a little high, but idk. Thats 12 less than Verlander.
Verlander faced the Indians, and won 3 Times. Add those 3, and that equals 15. Makes it a much tighter division race.
2 players batted over .300, 2 Hitters had 20 or more HRs. 5 over .290. Thats not such a powerful lineup.tighter, but who comes out on top? the tigers
that offense was too good to lose the division
28 games over .5002 players batted over .300, 2 Hitters had 20 or more HRs. 5 over .290. Thats not such a powerful lineup.
And they dont have a lot of speed either. Austin Jackson had 22 stolen bases, second highest on the team was 5. THey were an okay lineup, but in a league with teams that sported hitters like A-Rod, Granderson, Bautista, Gonzo, Ortiz, Teixeira, Cano, Hamilton, Cruz, they still found a way to compete, and their ace was a big factor.
