What's the main piece of the Knicks' offer, Porzingis or their pick? If it's the pick, the value is gonna swing massively post lotto. If it's #1 the Knicks would probably be less likely to deal it, if it's #3 or #4 the Pelicans would value it less. Waiting for the offseason might take the Knicks out of the running.

I literally dont know how to say this any other way, the Celtics are offering Tatum regardless if Kyrie leaves or not. The benefit for the Celtics in getting a deal done early is being able to shut down those Kyrie rumors. Celtics want to agree to a frame work deal now, as do the Pels. Thats why this could potentially get done.

Kyrie leaves
Celtics offer tatum+ for AD
Get AD for a year WITHOUT Kyrie
AD plays with hayward and horford and so incredibly happy with the potential of this team
Ends up re signing with them bc they can DEFINITELY with a championship without Kyrie

Its 100% true. Doesnt the fact that Boston is pushing to agree to a deal now kind of prove that? Tatum is offered regardless, Ive said that from the beginning, but again the main sticking point is whats offered after that.
