The NFL sucks so bad this year that we've gone through like three pages without any football talk.

Poor quarterback play in an already diluted product. I don't care what level of the game we're talking, if the QB's are awful, the games won't be interesting. I was beyond pissed to wake my ass up at 8 am last Sunday morning to watch a 6-3 game in f'ing London. If ever there was a microcosm of how much the NFL sucks right now.

I'm ready to just round up tapes are start re-watching the late-90s and early-2000s NFL games instead. The game was really good from 98-06.

Oh you're also more than welcome to elaborate.

Are you another radical Muslim apologist?
It’s very possible to hold the opinions that Schilling does without being a hateful piece of shit when discussing them

Kaepernick is beyond privileged. His protest was also worthless. If he had any sort of message, it has long been lost. Overpaid NFL players that don't give a damn about people who actually live in poverty are kneeling to protest their own organization at this point. They can keep kneeling and look foolish. Some don't believe it is actually harming the league but they cant argue it's doing anything positive.

The fact you consider the National Anthem politics and not patriotism is everything wrong with your half of the discussion. How in the hell is sports any sort of a reflection of what's happening in today's society!? That might be the single dumbest comment I've read all year. Do you make LeBron James-type money to play a game? I know that I certainly don't.

Is Michael Bennett's taking a knee comparing to the black on black crime that continues to rise at beyond-alarming rates? Do the officials and their flags represent the police? LOL
You sir, are a moron.

You basically you dont like Republicans or Conservatives. Thats fine but you dont get to label someone hateful just bc they disagree with your personal, snowflake-Liberal values.

No it’s the way he discusses the issues. Not the views he hold.

I would explain to you why it is they’re not overpaid but I don’t think you’re capable of understanding it

So you can’t complain too much about what Schilling says but you’re offended with how he says it? Okay...

And please, I would love to hear your argument for Michael Bennett deserving 2 houses and 6 cars for 6 months of work.

Didn’t say I was offended

Michael Bennett isn't a thug...he's a f'ing moron. Lying about his encounter with Vegas PD, comparing NFL players to Dred Scott... don't even get me going on this "look at me" piece of cow dung.

And the NFL could make a trillion dollars per year and that doesn't mean players aren't overpaid to play a game for a living. Does it make you feel better to know that I'm also of the opinion the NFL makes too much damn money? Its actually ridiculous how much pro football has become so cult-like that people living hand to mouth will spend themselves into debt, just to support their favorite team.

It's a shit business and the bubble is showing signs of a near-future burst.

But you go ahead and keep siding with the rich & famous. I'm sure they give just as much of a shit about you as you do them.

This is such a generic conversation that's been repeated a thousand times. Is there some app you guys use? It looks like you just selected a controversial topic and picked your side of the political spectrum and this debate typed itself out. The liberal setting could use some work though, it generates too many "Lol"s.

Not gonna waste any more time responding to someone that doesn’t believe in (or understand) basic supply and demand

If it was as simple as basic supply and demand, teachers wouldn't be getting paid dog shit.

How does that prove your point? Do we not need teachers in our society? There's quite the demand for them everywhere and yet most don't want to do it because they don't make enough money.

You're of the opinion the NFL player is worth multi-millions over a 17 week period because the networks pay out a fortune in TV deals.  Okay.  Like I said, they could pay the league trillions and that alone doesn't make these jack-weeds worth what they take home in pay.

Teachers aren't paid as much because it's a relatively low skilled job.

You have had some of the dumbest takes I've ever heard in this thread so far, and I'm not sure this cracks the top 3

Kinda? No, really...actually. It requires a college education on top of certifications in order to be a full time teacher. And there's a huge demand for them.

Of course the NFL is entertainment and our society will irresponsibly spend more on entertainment than they will public education.  I get it whey pro athletes are paid what they're paid.  I don't like it and don't agree with it, but I get it.

But just because it makes sense why they're paid so much, doesn't mean they're any less overpaid because in terms of everything but revenue, there's nothing to justify such high salaries to play games for a living.

Unless the league is going to offer lifetime health insurance to anyone who plays a single snap on a Sunday, there's no way to overpay NFL players.
