the g league is literally a developmental league

Their goal is to groom as many NBA players as they can. They don't care about individual seasons other than winning can lead to good habits etc

You know this
Why would that coach give a shit about a guy who won't be in the organization the following year? The guy who runs the G-League team for the Celtics isn't going to care about a guy who could get drafted by the Lakers the following year

if your stock won't likely improve, might as well start making money
Better coaches at the top schools in college than there are in the G-League
More exposure from playing games on national tv all the time which helps their future earnings

But nah, they should go make 5-6 figures for one year in the G-League

still gonna be hard for him. im fine with some big guys making the jump, like zion could(it would do him good for his diet), but guards are always too little
Have you seen Zion lately?

He’s a hot take guy who does similar things to never give anyone credit for anything, he basically plays a character and is pretty entertaining

I guess MJ > Bron is a hot take these days

When did i not give Bron credit? Hes made his finals, hes got 3 rings, great. Credit given

But dont give me all those baby shit arguments when trying to put him above the GOAT

Simons is bypassing because he can enter the draft, If Barrett or Reddish or Zion could enter the draft instead of going to Duke they would as well. Its much different than going to the G league
you missed my point.

because these guys work with their parent club

This isn't a college baseball situation where the coach doesn't care about the kids arm since he's only there for 3 years

Hes not guaranteed to go to the parent club unless the system changed.

That's why it's a little weird for me the whole g league thing. To develop a player into he g league and then the benefits go to another team. What's the big deal with going from high school to the league? I actually don't know lol.

Doesnt sound worth it. He must really need the money.

Yea probably. Simons is small but there’s still plenty of small players in the league, it likely takes a bit of time to adjust to the physicality and strength of the pros, college may be a decent stepping stone towards that but I think guys get better playing against pros than “amateurs”

With what we’ve seen in these investigations one would think he could easily make more at college. Maybe it’s not about the money for him? Maybe school just isn’t for him and he doesn’t want to waste his time there. Kinda like Ben Simmons who didn’t care to be at college at all
