I was thinking of this a few days ago, and someone posted it on Reddit too

Essentially, I am worried about this: Anthony Davis is arguably good enough to single-handedly bring you to the playoffs, but the overall construction of the team is worrisome. There isn't much young talent, and there won't be potential to add to that unless they start keeping their picks. Unless they hit it big in free agency or on some second round picks, I'm concerned about their odds of making it out of the first round in the West in the near future (KG's situation in Minnesota comes to mind, though Davis is even better than KG, which is scary if you think about it).

Davis's Pelicans are basically Garnett's Timberwolves.

Its the conclusion paragraph to this argument that Orlando is a better coaching opportunity than New Orleans is, which I agree with. He explains that the Magic's situation is a better one than New Orleans'.

I saw it. Put it simply, if you have 100 coaches who are choosing from NOLA and Orlando, and they're getting paid the same thing, all 100 coaches are coming coach Anthony Davis. Like I said, he does make some good points, but it's also got a good bit of misinformation.

Skiles never was given the opportunity to choose between the two.

Throwback right here:

2006 NBA Draft: Rockets trade #8 overall pick and Stromile Swift to MEM for Shane Battier

That pick was Rudy Gay. IMO the Rockets could have been so much more deadly had they not done that deal

The Magic don't have a franchise player and they're nowhere closer to getting one than they were a year ago. They are in the East though

The Magic are going to meddle around the bottom of the lottery and the 6th-8th seed for for the forseeable future

But are the Pelicans not going to do that either?
