Wilt was a freak athlete, but like Pugz said, nobody in that era could hold a candle to Shaq physically

i think wilt is either looked at like a god because it was hard to match him, or hes discredited a bit because it was so hard to match him. if that makes sense

Wilt dominated the NBA because he was a crazy athlete and was the tallest in the NBA, at 7'2" (7'1"?)
The third tallest player in the league at the time was Bill Russell, at 6'9".
 
 
Wilt had such an unfair advantage over everyone else because he had 5 inches on everyone, if not more, and due to a good post game at the time, was almost impossible to stop.
 
 
 
But Shaq was a goddamn tank. He had to face established centers his size, like Hakeem, Ewing, Robinson, etc, and he bullied his way through. And I believe he could have stayed more dominant throughout his career had he not left for Miami, where  Pat Riley made him lose so much weight

I posted it mainly because Lebron gets so much discredit for being 2-3 in the Finals (and could probably be 2-4), and that he'll never be as good as Jordan who went 6-0.
 
 
Jordan's 6 championships had teammate grades of: 1.1, 3.9, 1.9, 6.8, 6.1, 6.2 -- an average of 4.3
Lebron's 6 Finals appearances had grades of: -0.2, 5.1, 4.1, 2.7, 0.9, and -0.1 -- an average of 2.1
 
According to 538's numbers, Jordan had over double the help that James did in the Finals, despite putting up similar Talent Rating scores (which I will say, I don't know exactly what they are quantifying)
 
 
To these numbers, just based off of the supporting talent scores, only one of Lebron's losses was unjustified: Miami v Dallas. I get that he's 2-3 in his Finals career right now, and that no advanced stat takes that away. But it really brings context to how close James is to Jordan, which is really close.

I think the key matchup of the Finals will be Draymond vs Tristan. Its gonna be fun watching that matchup.

Tristan will have his way on the offensive glass, which in turn might help slow down the Warriors pace if they have to focus on boxing out/rebounding and not leaking out. But I doubt it matters in the long run. The Cavs are going to have huge issues matching up on Curry/Thompson.

I think the bigger question will be if the Cavs prioritize offense or defense for their personnel
 
 
If I were Cleveland, I would try to have Shumpert out there as often as possible, to guard Klay & Steph. But then comes the question if you have enough offensive firepower, with Dray on Lebron and an injured Kyrie as the only other one on the court that create their own shot. Which then begs the question: do you put in JR for Mozgov/Thompson and go small ball? That might be their best chance imo. Kyrie-Thompson-JR-Lebron-Thompson

Yea him! Its weird because Klay and Tristan dont look anything alike, must have different mothers or something.

On a side note, Lebron is shooting 26% outside of the paint, that needs to change if the Cavs are going to win.

I wonder what the status on Kyrie is in terms of his overall health.
