Yeah I was about to say acquiring a chucker who plays no defense and finishing under .500 is not deserving of the award haha
Getting Jae Crowder and a 1st for Rondo was very good as well, as it turned around the entire team dynamic

Like, what did GS even do outside of hire Kerr?

They finished above .500
Celtics went 20-11 after acquiring Thomas, four of those losses were with Thomas not even active.

We were far below .500 before acquiring Thomas

And again... how is Myers more qualified than Griffin? I said both of them for a reason.

So 31 games = a whole season? The Celtics were below .500.... period.

Griffin shouldn't win because LeBron is the coach and GM of that team

Its the 2014-15 Executive of the Year Award

Golden State added Shaun Livingston and Leandro Barbosa. They replaced their coaching staff
Cleveland added Lebron, JR, Mozgov, Love, and Shumpert, in addition to a new coaching staff.

I don't even understand how you can say GS deserved Exec of the Year over Cleveland. Team of the Year? Sure. But their exec hardly did much in comparison.

People make too much of a deal of "they made THIS move". Myers should get as much credit for the move he didn't make in not trading for Love. There's no way that team has the same success if they pull the trigger on that

How exactly is not making a move any more of an accomplishment than the Cavs getting LeBron? Lol

Because the Cavs getting LeBron had nothing to do with management or anything. He came back because he failed his first time there and wanted to bring them a title.

Uniformed opinion, but okay.

If LeBron is the GM, how come Tristan Thompson's extension didn't get done? How come Mark Jackson isn't the coach and David Blatt still is?

And Myers literally had to do nothing to not make the Kevin Love deal.
Not saying they should take a lot of credit for LeBron coming back, but if you aren't giving credit for that I don't think you can give credit for non-deals happening either.

I don't think that's reasonable. He definitely didn't do "nothing", he weighed both sides and ended up deciding not to trade Thompson+ for Love and the rewards have been great. GM'ing is a lot more than just making big moves.

But you could also look at it from the other angle and say he was that close to potentially ruining the team.

IDK I guess if you wanna reward him for standing pat then so be it. But Griffin was pretty aggressive this off-season and during the season, I think he should be rewarded for that because it paid dividends. And that's excluding LeBron, because I do agree he didn't do much there lol.

I just think you're giving him too much credit for some of those moves. Like for instance, in the Love move, you know this is LeBron saying to the Cavs higher-ups "Get Love". LeBron's recruiting Love. etc etc etc

KD is about to have a "random" drug test headed his way

Drug tests are very limited in the NBA. He can't be tested again until the off-season (assuming he already had his four required tests during the season)
