I understand the logic of batting the pitcher 8th, but I don't think it's overly smart or overly dumb. It's just a thing.
over the course of the year it gives the pitcher more at bats than a position player
Also leads to fewer innings from a pitcher cause his spot comes up quicker later in the game

Its overmanaging

That difference is so marginal. The other way to look at it is keeping stronger hitters closer to the top of the line up (as having an actual hitter and not a pitcher turning it over to the top of the lineup). Again, its not significant either way.

I used to be in favor of pitchers hitting because it makes managerial decisions more essential, but now Ive switched. The league is too pitcher friendly now so we need a bit more offense. Im for the DH in the NL.

I'm not in favor just because I love the strategy in the NL

What strategy? Dude either bunts or strikesout. If you're late in the game and the pitcher isn't dominating, you pinch hit. These managers aren't exactly MIT grads, they don't do much.

Ubaldo just got thrown out of a game where he hadnt given up a hit for hitting Sandoval unintentionally with no prior warning or any reason to think it was on purpose.

Fucking typical Red Sox bullshit

Have you accepted A-Rod into your life as your lord and savior?

I have, and it's great!
