Poor asset management
Porcello's xfip for the past 3 years
3.89
3.19
3.68

Lester's xfip for the past 3 years
3.82
3.90
3.10

it really isn't much of a downgrade. Maybe a little but at least they don't have to pay lester 25 mil a year. Plus sox had way too many outfielders.

This is a good deal for both teams

Exactly. Porcello is a good #2 in the league, and per dollar, he's better than Lester

Xfip is a good stat to indicate a pitchers true skill. Plus it's park adjusted.

I don't get why you criticize advance stats so much jus because you don't bother learning about it.

I wouldn't call Rick a GOOD #2 starter.
Did have a career year, but slumped in the 2nd half of the season.

But all in all I'd consider him more as a #3, with room to improve.

You are so arrogant
Just to pleasure you I took a look at the leaderboard for "xFIP" and saw Brandon McCarthy at #9. Needless to say I had seen all I needed to see.

I just think people can find plenty of random stats to support their argument. If a pitcher is good, why won't his basic stats reflect that?

My comment was clearly trolling though haha, it's been a battle in the MLB section all year, Idk how much you've been around.

You need to bring back the Hyde avi btw haha

haha yeah, I have to find a new one

And I'm well aware of the back and forth over fancy stats here. I'm just of the opinion that you shouldn't disregard anything. You take everything into account (fancy, outdated, or otherwise) and form your opinion from there.
