We won't get him or Iggy. End up resigning Calderon to a moronic contract, then call it a day.

With uncertainty in the backcourt, the Chicago Bulls are showing significant interest in Mo Williams and Will Bynum and have started exploratory discussions with the representatives of the free agent guards, league sources told RealGM.

Williams averaged 12.9 points in 46 games a season ago with the Utah Jazz, and he has a stated desire to receive heavy, contributing minutes.

The Jazz acquired Trey Burke at No. 9 in the NBA draft and could start him early in his NBA career. At 30, Williams has established himself as a combo guard, and Tom Thibodeau would undoubtedly place the 10-year veteran in shooting and playmaking situations.

Bynum has been a pace-changing guard, averaging nearly 10 points on 46.9 percent shooting in 2012-13. He has played five of his six seasons with the Detroit Pistons. Given Chicago’s salary structure, Williams and Bynum both could be inclined to make less money in a potential deal with the Bulls.

The Bulls appear unlikely to retain Nate Robinson or Marco Belinelli, and they are expected to waive Rip Hamilton before his entire contract becomes guaranteed. Still, they’ll have Derrick Rose back next season, leading to fewer minutes for Kirk Hinrich.

The Detroit Pistons met with Josh Smith at 12:01 AM EST on Monday and intend to make a substantial four-year offer.

The Atlanta Hawks have expressed more interest in working with Smith on a sign-and-trade than to re-sign him.

Smith is the Pistons' top priority in free agency, along with re-signing Jose Calderon.

The Pistons hope to make a preemptive strike on Smith knowing that he is a secondary pursuit for teams interested in signing Dwight Howard.
we met with him for over 5 hours, supposedly.

Monta Ellis has received interest from the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns as free agency began.

The Knicks only have the $3.2 million taxpayer mid-level exception available.

Ellis walked away from a deal that would have paid him $11 million next season with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Charlotte Bobcats are pursuing Al Jefferson in free agency, according to a source.
Jefferson is an unrestricted free agent coming off a five-year, $65 million contract originally signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Wolves traded to Jefferson to the Utah Jazz in July of 2010 to replace Carlos Boozer.

Greg Oden hasn’t played in an NBA game in more than 3½ years, but hasn't kept teams from inquiring about the possibility of signing him.

Oden, 25,has received interest from the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers and Memphis Grizzlies, league sources said. The No. 1 pick in the 2007 NBA draft hasn’t played since Dec. 5, 2009, because of multiple knee injuries.

Oden is in a "good place" mentally now, one source said, and hopes to be ready physically to play by training camp. He also doesn’t appear to be in a rush to make a decision on where to sign, the source said.

O.J. Mayo met with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday evening in Los Angeles.
Mayo is also scheduled to meet with the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons and Utah Jazz.
The New Orleans Pelicans could become interested in Mayo if they trade Greivis Vasquez.

@HammerNation19: Per Windy, a few players to watch for Cavs: Omer Asik, Pau Gasol, and Robin Lopez

Windy being Brian Windhorst. Pau Gasol would be awesome as a one year rental to make the post-season when the Lakers decide to blow it up when Dwight walks.

Calderon? Wow lol. He had no role with us last year. Bringing him back would be so stupid, and just makes not drafting Burke even worst. What are we gonna roll out Calderon and Knight again? And delegate KCP to the bench, and probably behind Stuckeys garbage ass.
