I meant move Parsons in a deal for Melo. The Knicks have no incentive to S&T him there unless they get significant talent back, and Asik does not qualify as that.

Has nothing to do with underrating them, but contracts matter. This isn't 2K. Do NBA teams underrate them as well? Because I haven't seen a team make a move for either one yet. If Asiks deal wasn't so cap heavy, he'd be on another team by now. How long has Houston been trying to trade those two guys?

I dont know if they have shopped lin, but honestly, 1 year i think someone will do it despite his contract

I know they wanted a pick for asik, and i think a team like phoenix may do it
Or they can lower the price if it meant melo for sure and definitely some team will take him

I'm sorry, but a team who went about preserving cap is not about to use it all up to get Asik on their team. The Rockets, again, would have no leverage. They would have to give up an asset to dump them.

He could find a home after teams strikeout in free agency and scramble, but Melo would be already signed. No one is giving up a chance to explore free agency for a chance at Asik.

Get Asik & Lin (to be expirings, like Humphries was) as well as Parsons and some picks


Amare, Chandler, Bargs, Clark, Lin, Asik on expirings...not terrible at all.

I've already outlined its only worth it to Houston if they can get Parsons.

Why would the Knicks S&T Melo to a team that cannot outright sign him for a couple of expirings? You might as well just let him walk somewhere else and keep the money/cap

Who is part of the 2016 FA class? That seems like a lot of dead cap space for the Knicks unless they plan on a complete rebuild.
