Rubio has the potential to be a great defender?
I think Mario Chalmers is the perfect fit for the heat. A 1 who can plan defense, make open threes, and defer to Wade and JamesI think he'd excel on a team like the Heat actually. Doesn't need to score because he plays more of a distributional role and the Heat have 3 scorers to go to but like mexi said, he can score when he needs to. He has a shot and he's not bad at driving either. And maybe it doesn't matter so much but he's one of the best in the league with free throw %. Only reason I think Calderon off the bench may be good is because it worked alright when TJ Ford was a Raptor.
Offensively, you really can't argue that Calderon also wouldn't fit in that system though. Jose has a very good A/T ratio, and is top 5 in the NBA with APG. I'm not saying Chalmers doesn't work for the Heat (they won an NBA championship), I'm just contemplating that Jose could be better or just as good.I think Mario Chalmers is the perfect fit for the heat. That's the absolute best case scenario for him, which means it isn't likely at all.Rubio has the potential to be Rondo imo
I wouldn't go that far.Rubio has the potential to be Rondo imo
