This actually may be the end of the Lakers as we know them.

If it is a rupture, he may be done for a full year, so this may have been Kobe's last game (though I doubt he will call it a career on that note).  Dwight is probably gone.  Pau will be entering the last year of his deal.  If Kobe is done and Dwight leaves, they'd be stupid not to move Pau for some prospects/picks.

 Time for a legit rebuild.

They'll win the draft lotto next year and sign LeBron in the same offseason that they draft Wiggins

Im not all crying and in a downer mood over kobe live everyone.
tonight was kind of bs. Lakers stole it so bad

But with kobe, he'll be back. Chauncey is older and was back this year after getting hurt last february

Think about it. Say kobe misses 8 months. He'll be ba ck in december ha ving missed maybe 20 games if that

20 games will seem like forever to not see kobe on the floor. like jake said, this truly could be the end of the laker run. an achilles injury is bad no matter what it is.

Kobe will retire a Laker and he will be back next season. And I'm afraid as long as he's there they won't start any serious rebuilding process, even though it might be the right choice looking into the future. I don't know, I don't think the look of the Lakers will change much. Just my guess.

It stars with Dwight though.

It's a little aggravating to see guys like Kobe and Kevin Ware getting all of this sympathy and well wishes after their injuries, but when Rose and RG3 went down, everyone was making jokes and photoshopping pictures.  faggots

That's not true, Jake. The first couple of days everybody feels sad for them. Pretty sure if you go back to the 2012 Playoff thread you see the same posts when Rose went down.

Besides, I photoshopped the Kevin Ware pic within a couple of hours.

This is such BS! All the training and sacrifice just flew out the window with one step that I've done millions of times! The frustration is unbearable. The anger is rage. Why the hell did this happen ?!? Makes no damn sense. Now I'm supposed to come back from this and be the same player Or better at 35?!? How in the world am I supposed to do that??

I have NO CLUE. Do I have the consistent will to overcome this thing? Maybe I should break out the rocking chair and reminisce on the career that was. Maybe this is how my book ends. Maybe Father Time has defeated me...Then again maybe not! It's 3:30am, my foot feels like dead weight, my head is spinning from the pain meds and I'm wide awake. Forgive my Venting but what's the purpose of social media if I won't bring it to you Real No Image?? Feels good to vent, let it out. To feel as if THIS is the WORST thing EVER! Because After ALL the venting, a real perspective sets in. There are far greater issues/challenges in the world then a torn achilles. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever.

One day, the beginning of a new career journey will commence. Today is NOT that day.

"If you see me in a fight with a bear, prey for the bear". Ive always loved that quote. Thats "mamba mentality" we don't quit, we don't cower, we don't run. We endure and conquer.

I know it's a long post but I'm Facebook Venting LOL. Maybe now I can actually get some sleep and be excited for surgery tomorrow. First step of a new challenge.

Guess I will be Coach Vino the rest of this season. I have faith in my teammates. They will come thru.

Thank you for all your prayers and support. Much Love Always.

Mamba Out

While I agree, the mere fact that these injuries happened to Rose and RG3 while the media was all over their knobs 24/7 contributed to that. People think Kobe's half the player he once was. I didn't even know who Kevin Ware is.

It was just bound to happen that way in these 4 situations. While I would never wish the injuries that occurred to Rose and RG3, I will admit that not hearing their names 24/7/365 has been nice.

Not even AP was getting the attention those two were, and he's better in his sport than either of them are.

Imagine if Favre had suffered a career-ending injury during those last 2-3 years of every day Brett Favre talk. People would have been making jokes within seconds.

On a more relevant note, I'm getting a little irritated that Rose hasn't returned yet. He better let us know either way. This is bullshit. If AP and Rubio could come back, so could Rose. Yeah, his surgery was later, but he's been cleared to play for quite some time, now. It's time to see him or hear him come out and say he's not dressing this year.

Maybe, but either way, it's ridiculous to get a laugh out of a player getting hurt.

The media thing definitely applies for Kobe and the Lakers this year, though.  It's even worse because the Lakers were pretty bad this year, yet they were at the top of just about every sportcenter and morning talk show.

If the Mavs beat the Hornets tonight they'll finally be able to shave.
