Spoelstra should win Coach of the Year.  You win 27 straight games, possibly on its way to another championship, 69% win percentage.

I know the argument will probably be "the Heat won the title, he has LeBron, Wade, and Bosh, of course they should be winning."  But coach of the year is given to the guy who does the most surprising coaching job way to often, the guy who's team wasn't supposed to be that good and they ended up being good.

I also don't think these awards should be voted on at the end of the year.  They shouldn't be regular season awards, they should be season awards.  Wait until after you have a champion.

Exactly

Like if the Celts win the Finals (lol), Doc would get it easily for his management of oldies plus dealing with his best player going on the IR

OMG, I don't know who the fuck that ref is but he is out of his mind.  That's terrible.

The Lakers just threw a lob to Kobe and Aminu blocked it and Kobe came down and started flailing his arms and crying for a call and the ref actually blew the whistle and gave him two shots AFTER we rebounded the block and had started the break.  Horrendous.

If the awards were voted on at the end of the post season, the COTY would always be the coach who wins the finals.

I'm so happy Dwight doesn't wear that headband anymore.

Absolutely the wrong call at the end of the Houston/Phoenix game, but only because anybody could see that shot wasn't going to go in. By NBA rules, yeah, it's the right call, but by God do I hate the basket interference rule. Not because it's not a good idea, but because they rarely get it right. The only reason they got it right here is because they reviewed it. They should be able to review any instance of goaltending and basket interference.

That's was a crazy ending. It is the right call though.
But it makes me seriously wonder if we shouldn't finally adopt the european rules of basket interference and goaltending. It would make the game as a whole much more fluid and we would have much less questionable calls. As soon as it hits the rim, the ball would be fair game. I don't buy the excuse that guys like Javale or Dwight or whoever would be just trying to swat everything away.

The Cavs are 3-4 in games in which they've led by 20. Highly impressive

Any ball should be live once it hits the rim, no question.
