Rangers extended Washington through 2014. That crack head has really done a good job with them.

With all the talk about Prince Fielder, another of Scott Boras' clients made news Tuesday.

Right-hander Edwin Jackson, who pitched for the Tigers in 2009, reportedly is willing to consider one-year offers, according to Ken Rosenthal of Foxsports.com.

The Tigers still might be in the market for a fifth starter, and Jackson performed well in his only season as a Tiger (13-9, 3.62 ERA). Since leaving Detroit, Jackson pitched a no-hitter and won a World Series with the Cardinals.
Not sure why we haven't like reached out to him yet. Dude was great in his 1 season here. Never understood why we just let him walk.

The Mariners announced they've signed infielder Carlos Guillen to a minor league contract with a spring training invite. Guillen made his big league debut with the Mariners in 1998, becoming a regular at shortstop and third base for four years before being traded to the Tigers eight years ago.

Guillen, 36, was limited to 699 plate appearances for the Tigers over the last three seasons. The Octagon client had knee surgery in September of 2010, delaying his 2011 debut. Wrist and calf injuries affected the tail end of his campaign.

I'd take him as a 5th starter all day.

You don't live in NY anymore?
I go to school in Daytona Beach, spend my vacations back home in NY. Definitely gonna go see the Mets this year, should be easy to get autographs since they suck so much this year. Im like a little school girl when I get to see the Mets, lol.

A Missouri sports bar and grill named for Albert Pujols will change its name after the slugger left the Cardinals in free agency.

The Pujols 5 Westport Grill is being renamed to the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame Bar and Grill.

Pujols said in a statement: "I want to wish Pat Sr., Dave, Pat Jr., and the rest of the Hanon family nothing but success and happiness with their new restaurant."

There are no plans to remove the statue of Pujols that resides out in front of the eatery.

Sources: #Yankees in serious discussions with Ibanez. He is willing to take less to play for them than he could get elsewhere. #MLB

I just want the 2009 team/season back. Everything about it just felt magical and it just seemed like nothing would go wrong, and it didn't.
