Twins get a C-. They traded from a position of strength -- Aaron Hicks for JR Murphy, picked up a strikeout machine that can hit the ball a mile if he connects -- BH Park. They picked up a couple of bullpen arms.
In my opinion, Matt Harvey is the 4th best starter on the team. Syndergaard, DeGrom and Matz are all more impressive to me. This is in no way downplaying how good Harvey is, but I like the other guys better.
Nice problem for the Mets to have. You can never have too much pitching.
Could be a very interesting race this season. The Mets pitching is as good as any I've seen recently. Offensively, they have some question marks. Can Wright come back? Will Duda continue to hit? Cespedes in center is possibly headed for a bad outcome, although he is a very good player.

Chris Sale (under team control until after 2019) and Adam Eaton (under team control until after 2021) are upset. Eaton is the player-rep and La Roche had a clause in his contract allowing his son to be in the clubhouse. The union is going to get involved due to this clause.
Fortunately for...
In a dispute with Kenny Williams over La Roche's 14 year old son being at practice. Apparently, there were no complaints from other players, but Williams was upset about it.
La Roche walks away from $13MM. I guess there is more to life than money.
Here is a list of players that are out of options. Some are easily going to make their teams, others will need to prove they deserve a roster spot.
Angels
Daniel Nava, Johnny Giavotella, Todd Cunningham, Craig Gentry, Cory Rasmus, Deolis Guerra (Rule 5 also)
Astros
Mike Fiers
Athletics...
Not sure he is still an "elite" CF, and he might not be an upgrade from Eaton there, but he is better than the other outfield options (Cabrera, Garcia). I like Jackson in right and Cabrera in left with Garcia backing him up.
In a blow to the Indians, Abraham Almonte failed a drug test and was suspended for 80 games.
Almonte was slated to get the bulk of the playing time in center this season and his suspension leaves the Indians with a hole in their outfield. They still have Rajai Davis, Collin Cowgill, Will...
This deal was agreed upon prior to Fowler coming back. The Cubs could have rescinded it, but honored their end. If Victorino has anything left, they will find out. If not, perhaps I'll see him in Des Moines this summer.
$8MM for 1 year with a $9MM mutual option for 2017. There is a $5MM buyout if both sides decline the option.
Heyward can go back to RF, where he plays very well.
