MLB Player Rankings 2016: #3 Center Fielder

I just changed my vote to Jones.

MLB Player Rankings 2016: #4 Left Fielder

What about Alex Gordon?  He is possibly having a "down" season, but he is at least as good as anyone on this list.

Tim Tebow pursuing career in professional baseball

Let the guy give it a shot.  If he can make it, good for him.  If not, he'll at least bring some fans to the ballparks in the minor leagues.

MLB Player Rankings 2016: #5 Shortstop

In my opinion, Tulowitski and Crawford should both be off the board already.  Its a bit early to put the kids above these vets.  These guys have proven their worth and the kids, though they could potentially be outstanding players, have not proven as much to me.

    Prince Fielder will retire

A real shame.  This guy was one of the best players I had the pleasure of seeing in person.  He played the most games in the league from 2005-13.  Unfortunately, neck injuries derailed what could have been a hall-of-fame career.

A-Rod to play final game on Friday

Maybe.......Speculation is that he would listen to offers from a few teams -- Tampa, Seattle, the Mets, and the Red Sox -- and come back as a DH/PH for a year just to get to 700 homers.

    Ichiro -- 3000

Paul Molitor is the only other one to do it, and frankly Molitor's triple should have been an error.

    Ichiro -- 3000

Well, he did it.  3000 hits in the majors.  He did it with a triple. Congratulations to one of the finest hitters I've ever seen.

    A-Rod Set To Retire

I'm sure the Yankees decided that they can't afford to keep him on the field.  He is a liability with a glove and his bat has gone silent.  He was one of the best players during his era, but one has to wonder how much of his ability came out of a syringe.

    Tex to Retire

Mark Teixeira has announced that this will be his final season.  He has openly admitted that he has been overpaid for the past few seasons, but has had a great career.  He was at one time one of the most feared hitters in baseball along with being a gold glover at 1B.  Not sure if his peak years...

    Trade Deadline Winners/Losers

As a Twins' fan, I am happy with the players the team got for their players. Pat Light has a huge upside and could be either a middle of the rotation starter or a end of the game reliever. Lefty Adalberto Mejia came away from a suspension for non-performance enhancing drugs and has done very...

    Trade Deadline Deals?

The Twins traded Eduardo Nunez to the Giants for Adalberto Mejia, their #7 prospect according to MLB Pipeline.  I wish they could have gotten a bit more for him, but his track record is just not good enough.  Are the Giants getting the guy that batted .320 until the all star break or the guy...

Manfred considering a limit on pitching changes

There is talk about forcing all relievers to face at least 2 hitters, ending the LOOGY role.

    Trade Deadline Deals?

Looks like Torres, Adam Warren and Billy McKinney (former 1st rounder, currently listed as the Cubs #9 prospect by Baseball America) for Chapman.  Torres is blocked at the major league level with the Cubs, as is McKinney.  Torres is blocked with the Yankees, unless they move him to 3B also.

Sale is a great pitcher, but has an attitude problem.  If he thinks he'll get huge money as a FA, he is mistaken.  He'll get decent money, but I would add a behavior clause to any contract I would offer him.  The Sox would be better off without him.

Just for the record, the twins and Red Sox have played 608 games in their series.  They have each won 304 games.

That was all the Sox got off Gibson tonight.  He pitched probably his best game in his career tonight.  This is why the Twins drafted him in the 1st round a few years back.  Now if they could get another 1st rounder (Buxton) going......... 2-1 Twins tonight.  Very good game on both sides.

The Sox definitely put a hurting on the Twins last night.  Impressive offensive showing and Wright showed that he can control that butterfly he throws.
