In my opinion, Tulowitski and Crawford should both be off the board already. Its a bit early to put the kids above these vets. These guys have proven their worth and the kids, though they could potentially be outstanding players, have not proven as much to me.
A real shame. This guy was one of the best players I had the pleasure of seeing in person. He played the most games in the league from 2005-13. Unfortunately, neck injuries derailed what could have been a hall-of-fame career.
Maybe.......Speculation is that he would listen to offers from a few teams -- Tampa, Seattle, the Mets, and the Red Sox -- and come back as a DH/PH for a year just to get to 700 homers.
I'm sure the Yankees decided that they can't afford to keep him on the field. He is a liability with a glove and his bat has gone silent. He was one of the best players during his era, but one has to wonder how much of his ability came out of a syringe.
Mark Teixeira has announced that this will be his final season. He has openly admitted that he has been overpaid for the past few seasons, but has had a great career. He was at one time one of the most feared hitters in baseball along with being a gold glover at 1B. Not sure if his peak years...
As a Twins' fan, I am happy with the players the team got for their players. Pat Light has a huge upside and could be either a middle of the rotation starter or a end of the game reliever. Lefty Adalberto Mejia came away from a suspension for non-performance enhancing drugs and has done very...
The Twins traded Eduardo Nunez to the Giants for Adalberto Mejia, their #7 prospect according to MLB Pipeline. I wish they could have gotten a bit more for him, but his track record is just not good enough. Are the Giants getting the guy that batted .320 until the all star break or the guy...
Looks like Torres, Adam Warren and Billy McKinney (former 1st rounder, currently listed as the Cubs #9 prospect by Baseball America) for Chapman. Torres is blocked at the major league level with the Cubs, as is McKinney. Torres is blocked with the Yankees, unless they move him to 3B also.
Sale is a great pitcher, but has an attitude problem. If he thinks he'll get huge money as a FA, he is mistaken. He'll get decent money, but I would add a behavior clause to any contract I would offer him. The Sox would be better off without him.
That was all the Sox got off Gibson tonight. He pitched probably his best game in his career tonight. This is why the Twins drafted him in the 1st round a few years back. Now if they could get another 1st rounder (Buxton) going.........
2-1 Twins tonight. Very good game on both sides.
