Unless they start making the "Heritage Classic" a game for old rivalries (including old teams like the Whale or the Nordiques). I'd be on board for that.
They could alternate years too. That way having an outdoor game doesn't get stale.
Pitched way better at friendly Safeco than away from it but, at his age and upside, it's a good deal. The lineup wasn't a problem for them but pitching was. Took a surplus (Montero) and sold high on it.
Wings/Bruins was my hope but not for a couple years. Was hoping to see a throwback sort of thing like Nordiques (Colorado) vs Northstars (Dallas). Or get St. Louis in there. Screw the actual classic, I'd just want to see Hull and Oates reunited for the alumni game.
Honestly, I disagree with this completely. No offense to Canada but the sport is already popular there and the Winter Classic is really only about getting the game some mainstream attention. Thus, it makes no sense to include the Canadian teams. There's so many teams that they can use. Los...
They got the better player, sure. But Feaster says the Flames are "going for it" and that makes no sense for a team that needs to be rebuilding. They need a miracle to make it to, and out of, the first round.
Yeah but, honestly, it makes no sense. They don't improve and get somewhat of a cap improvement. Cammalleri's cap hit isn't the problem though (see: Gomez, Kaberle)
I never said what Marchand did was smart. It was clearly dumb. My problem is with the rest of the world believing Marchand looking to injure. He hit Salo at the thigh/knee area. Go look at video, still pictures, whatever you'd like. There's absolutely no "throwing" of his body at Salo's knees...
heh, you guys scored 4 PPGs. We all knew you could do it on the man advantage. They were no where near the Bruins even strength.
Marchand's "hit" (he ducked the check) looked worse than it was but I don't expect other teams to like him.
He's more of a rat anyway. You want to know bitch? How...
Sure Cashner's good but you trade one of your top prospects, acquired for your best player last offseason, for a closer. Surplus or not, one would think that the Padres could have got something more in value. I'd say a young power hitting first baseman ranks higher than a young closer but that's...
Yeah, I'm surprised the Padres let him go so easily. Sure, he's surplus but definitely think they could have got more.
He'll benefit from hitting at Wrigley vs PetCo
His power numbers have gone down but I think Seattle could take a shot at him. Deep prospect pool (not like he'd cost much anyway) and a DH spot open in a lefty-heavy lineup
