I don't know enough about court, all I know is that a judge or a court could rule today to overturn the suspensions Goodell brought down on the players.

Its one thing to ask the commish for an appeal and accept the consequences, its another to have a new fucking appeal every damn week for months in a row, over and over and over and over again. Only people that aren't completely sick of hearing about it are Saints fans

New England didn't file appeals for their shit... they accepted the damn punishment for being fuckups


IMO, if when the case gets brought back up, and their evidence is conclusively guilty, all those involved in the appeals should be banned permanently from the NFL

Lol, ok I don't think you're being a hypocrit, I know you are. The Falcons are one of 30 NFL teams that would have done this exact same thing if they thought they were wronged by the NFL. Heck, you see this exact thing happen on a monthly basis, just not of this magnitude.

And bosox, the reason they got overturned in the first place was because the NFL's evidence isn't good enough to back up these punishments. NFL shared their evidence with four different judges during these hearings and not one of them thought the evidence warranted these punishments. Where this entire thing gets cloudy is that the Saints had a pay for performance program, and they've never denied that (I could post a article where Scott Shanle admitted to it just today), but they did not have a bountry program. Major difference. And under NFL CBA rules, you can't suspend players for a pay for performance program.

With that said, I'd expect Goodell to attempt to uphold the suspensions early next week and this thing will just go right back to where it was before the three judge panel made their decision. It'll go right back to the chambers of Judge Berrigan, who has already stated she has concerns over what Goodell did and is in favor of Vilma.

The Saints players put other players' careers at risk. Sure, some hits just got dudes out of the game. But what if they were hits that led to more, like a Kevin Everett type of situation. If a player is willing to put someone's career at stake, then theirs should be too, via suspensions.

Judge Berrigan is what I'm talking about. In that court they had to present evidence. In the appeals court, you are correct, that was only to do with if Goodell had the authority.

Give me a break, the Saints did no different from any other team and player in the NFL, they went out there on Sundays and tried to hit the opponent in the mouth as hard as they could. Did they go out there with the intent to injure? Hell no.

Because when it's money on the line players from all 32 teams will fight for that money when they feel it's been wrongly taken from them. That is common sense and has held true for years over years, and it applies to much more than just football. Don't be fooled, they can talk about they want to play in the game all they want, the shits they give about the games isn't even remotely on the same level as the shits they give about their money being taken from them.

I understand what a bounty is, which is why I've repeated time after time that the Saints never had a bounty program. The Saints never went out onto the field with the intent to take another player from the opponent off the field.

I don't give a damn about the suspensions being lifted, but they goddamn well better overturn the Skins' cap penalties before the offseason, or fuck Goodell right up the asshole with a rusty pipe.
