On June 15, 2012, the NFL and the NFLPA met where the NFL handed over their evidence which consisted of 16 exhibits of a combined 200 slides of evidence against the New Orleans Saints and their players. The NFLPA preceeded to release all 200 slides of this evidence to the public on June 18, 2012. As of July 25, 2011, it is forbidden under rules of the newly agreed upon CBA to use any evidence not presented 72 hours (3 days) in advance to the opposing party in league hearings.

I mean come on pugz, I'm tired of arguing about it. I know you're a smart guy, but for some reason you don't want to seem to accept this fact. The NFL could have a video of Gregg Williams handing 50,000 to Jonathan Vilma on a Monday morning, but if that video was not handed over to the NFLPA and the players and their lawyers last Friday, that video may as well be burned because it can't be used.

Go ahead, I'll lock it for yall if it's a big deal. I'm providing nothing but factual evidence, which every person on this message board has access to. It's not my fault none of y'all want to look at what the NFLPA has brought to the forefront. If y'all did it would become obvious that the NFL doesn't have enough evidence to punish the players.

It's not a coincidence that Adam Schefter was on mike and mike this morning saying that the Saints had a pay for performance program but he has not seen any link to a bounty program. That's all I'm saying, I've admitted the Saints did something illegal from the start. But nothing that warrants guys being suspended for a year.

Not like it matters though, Goodell is the judge, jury, and executioner. He makes all the calls and decisions.

The video does sound bad, but again, does it prove that there was a bounty system in place? Does it give you enough to warrant suspensions? It's nothing but interpretation. Did Ayodele get paid for it? That's what matters. If he did, I'll happily say "the Saints are dumbfucks for having a bounty program." But if he didn't? What then?

Though like I've said, evidence doesn't matter. They could have evidence a bounty but didn't release it to the NFLPA for some dumb reason, or they could have nothing. Doesn't matter. Suspensions aren't getting overturned.

The terminology the Saints use is weird though. I thought "kill the head" sounded REALLY bad, but that just means don't let the ball carrier gain extra yardage. I thought "cartoffs" sounded really bad, but that' just big plays like pick sixes and such.

Since when do people believe everything he says? Never know what else could come up from this point on, I'm just saying, I'd be more worried about that more so than anything, what has been done already is done, it won't be changed. I also haven't kept up with it nearly as much as you, I haven't read into much just because it would be pointless.

I don't want to argue about it anymore, but I just had to post this.

Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis is suspended for the first eight games of the regular season for his role in the team’s bounty program, but the suspension won’t keep him from meeting with Saints owner Tom Benson and other team officials.

Benson recently bought the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets and installed Loomis as the director of basketball operations, and the NFL has confirmed that during Loomis’s suspension he’ll be allowed to meet with Benson and anyone else associated with both the Saints and the Hornets. The only catch is that Loomis won’t be allowed to talk about the Saints: The league expects Loomis to deal only with his NBA duties while he’s suspended.

Of course, that’s going to be just about impossible to enforce. If the Saints, for instance, lose an offensive lineman to an injury in their season opener, and if Loomis meets with Benson the next day to talk about the Hornets, will the NFL have any way of knowing if Loomis also tells Benson the name of a free agent offensive lineman he thinks the Saints should sign?

Suspending a general manager for eight games was always an odd punishment. If the NFL really wanted to punish Loomis, suspending him for three days during the NFL draft would have been a much harsher punishment than suspending him for eight weeks at the start of the season. Suspending him for four games of the preseason would have been a harsher punishment than suspending him for eight games of the regular season, too: A general manager’s job is a lot more important during the time when the team is trimming its roster from 90 players to 53 than it is once the 53-man roster has been set. Yes, the eight-game suspension means Loomis won’t be around to consult on potential trades and waiver claims during the first eight weeks of the season, but for a general manager, a suspension during the offseason would have more teeth than a suspension during the regular season.

And now it turns out that even during Loomis’s suspension, he’s going to be in regular contact with the owner of the Saints. At a time when the players who were suspended for the bounty program are claiming they got a raw deal, Loomis’s punishment looks relatively minor.
