Marlins offered 6 years/111 mill to Reyes.
-- MLBTRFree agent lefty C.J. Wilson has a six-year offer in hand from a team other than the Rangers, reports Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The Rangers, Angels, Marlins, Nationals, and a mystery team are currently in the mix. Wilson hopes to sign this week, but won't sign with a team just because it offered six years. Agent Bob Garber will meet with the Rangers tonight or Tuesday morning. Yesterday, it was reported that Wilson had offers from four teams.
Wilson and Roy Oswalt are represented by Garber, who said, "I have the two best clients out there. C.J. is comfortable with the process and confident with how things have been going. Roy basically said, 'Take car of C.J. I'll wait in the wings. Once C.J. and [Mark] Buehrle have signed, my market will open up."
@Ken_Rosenthal: Dodgers still working Harang. Deal expected to be north of Capuano. Two years, $12M range.
:suicide:@Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: Hairston is done with #Dodgers. Passes physical. 2 yrs, 6M plus incentives. #MLB
Probably is them. After signing Reyes they have less money to play around with so they probably increased the years they were offering but decreased the money per year.-- MLBTR
Bettin all my chips its the Marlins. Keep doubting, but all that Luxury Tax moola is about to pay off.
Most definitely, nowhere to go with him.Gabby Sanchez is going to be traded if the Marlins get Pujols, right?
The A's would probably want more than Gaby for Gio, even though Gio is being overvalued tremendously in the trade market.Apparently Gio Gonzalez would love to pitch in Miami, so that'd be a possibility too
I'd trade Tomlin, but that's not enough. Most definitely, nowhere to go with him.
Neither Lo-Mo or Stanton could play CF so they're both guaranteed to start in LF and RF, respectively, making Gaby Sanchez a bench player.
Hope you guys are willing to give up pitching for him because that's what the Marlins will be looking for.
MLBTR.comThe Tigers, Blue Jays, and Padres inquired on Mets infielder Daniel Murphy, tweets Joel Sherman of the New York Post. Sherman adds that the Mets like the Tigers' Andy Dirks as a potential center field alternative to Angel Pagan.
Murphy, 26, hit .320/.362/.448 in 423 plate appearances while playing first base, second base, and third base this year.
MLBTRThe Twins have agreed to re-sign Matt Capps to a one-year deal with an option, according to SI.com's Jon Heyman (Twitter links). Steve Popper of the Bergen Record tweeted earlier that Capps was likely heading back to Minnesota.
Capps was acquired by the Twins in July of 2010, and enjoyed a successful final two months of the season, posting a 2.00 ERA and saving 16 games. He was less effective in 2011, with a 4.25 ERA and by far the lowest K/9 mark of his career (4.7).
You cant sign Murphy, you would have to trade for him. He has a good bat, but he's been injured the past 2 years. He also cant seem to find a position that suits him, more than likely he would be best at 3rd.MLBTR.com
We could use a third baseman, EE is just awful in the field, and is inconsistent with the bat, would love to sign someone like Murphy.
