You don't get the point. No matter how "close" they got to winning a championship:
A) Their season was championship or bust. They busted, and thus their season was a failure.
B) The current Big three's games don't mesh well together. They don't have a low-post threat. Neither LeBron nor Wade have a jump shot consistent enough, etc. If they were to trade one of the Big 3 for a player like Dwight Howard, or Kevin Durant (this is impossible, but it's just an example), they would fill one of their biggest team needs without losing hardly anything (LeBron can play Wade's roll and vice versa, Haslem could start at PF if they traded Bosh, etc.).
The Patriots team had no real flaws, hence why they went 11-5 the next season WITHOUT TOM BRADY. That is a TERRIBLE comparison.
